Watching the highlight video shows how good her offensive game is. I remember watching her make that turn around jumper in the McDonalds All American game. Good to see she can make that shot at the Pac12 level as well. She's only 2-13 from 3 so far, but it's obvious she has good moves around the basket and hit's the mid-range jumper really well. If she improves that 3pt shot, look out, she'll be really dangerous with the ball in her hands. It's early, but offensively, she's better than I thought. There's a reason she's been rated top 10 for years. Her and Raegan are a solid combo. It's no wonder they smile and laugh with each other. They should have a blast playing together for the next few years, and I wouldn't want to be the inside defense trying to stop the two of them.

When people just post the player’s name, I get a little nervous that they’re injured or entering the portal.

If they stay healthy they are a hell of a trio. Going to be a nightmare for opposing coaches to plan for and even worse to play against.

She is such a great complement for Jelena. (... and Raegan, but especially Jelena.) Jelena dominated the 'ucks, and my impression is that Timea was a big reason for that. Her game complements Jelena's so well, both on offense and defense.
Here's your stat of the game - Points in Paint. OSU 46, UO 16. That's ridiculous!
The other stat that demonstrates how good Jelena was - Minutes Played. Beers 13, Mitrovic 27. You have to be doing pretty well for a coach to keep Raegan Beers on the bench! I'm not sure Raegan saw the floor in the 4th quarter.
My conclusion based on roughly 20 minutes of data: Raegan+Anyone > Jelena+Anyone Jelena+Timea > Raegan+Timea

A few other observations of Timea:
1. Knows what she is going to do with the ball before she receives a pass. So impressed with how quick she makes decisions. Multiple times Timea touch passed into Raegan. They have a great chemistry already, and will only get better.
2. Is a warrior (already!). Plays hard, plays confident, and clearly is going to be a leader on this team. TvO said Timea is the most confident player she has ever played with.
3. Hustles. Given she hasn't had much true college game time, I am so impressed at how hard she plays. Runs the court very well, and hustles back on defense.
4. Really, really good defender.
5. Plays with no fear at all. Love it

When people just post the player’s name, I get a little nervous that they’re injured or entering the portal. I was thinking exactly the same…especially because I saw her come up limping a bit against the fowl ones. Though she kept playing, I was wondering about lingering effects. Improve our guard-corps and we could be in a good position (assuming our front-court stays intact). They could surprise us with improvement this year, or with the addition of the new guards next year (prepped with an Italy trip? I think they are due), or certainly in two years if we don’t get derailed again by viruses or the portal.

Congrats to Timea, well deserved! Great posts from all so far regarding Timea, she is the real deal and we are seeing why she was rated as a top 10 recruit. She is a good outside shooter, even though her 3 % is low at the moment, but it will improve. So glad to see her finally playing with this team, her aggressive and physical presence is a boost. Hope Jelena keeps up her play too, and this front court is going to be scary good, if they can stay healthy! Now to get our guards shooting better from outside, they need to be hitting them in the 30-40% range, and consistently, in order to keep being competitive in the tough Pac-12 conf. With Timea’s addition, this team should just continue to improve and gel as they get more games together. I have to keep reminding myself how young this team is, and that with time/games will just continue to improve! Another big test this weekend with the Bay Area schools, will be a good challenge for sure. Go Beavs

I was hoping that Timea Gardiner would be PAC-12 Freshman of Week. Well deserved. Compare her game this past weekend to the touted UO freshman, VanSlooten.
Speaking of Freshmen (and Sophomores), which includes the likes of TVO, AJ, Raegan and Timea + Mitrovic (still a sophomore) - Granted that none of them are a point guards, but my goodness, those 5 alone speak to a successful recruiting scenario. You'd think a highly ranked, or portal/grad transfer, PG would be just be itching to join that level of talent on court for 2023-24. Here's hoping for that outcome.

It's like a new season from here on out with her on the court.

Not to be Debbie downer but I think Grace was in on that to. I figured she would get it two weeks in a row. She scored 18 points and 6-10 is very very good. Outstanding in fact. Ducks are scary from outside. Glad Vanslooten got her wings clipped a bit. A great player but she was tight shooting 2-11.I hope beavers play cal first I think there are alot of teams who are going to make Stanford struggle. They are missing the two sisters that were great leaders.from last year.go beavs

Wow. Honestly when I saw the post title I just assumed it contained news about Timea's great play over the weekend. I guess I'm a "glass-half-full" kind of a guy.

I thought they would probably give it to Timea because the Beavs won that game, but it could have gone either way. Oregon State and Oregon have 8 of the 11 Freshman of the week winners so far this season.
