She is such a great complement for Jelena. (... and Raegan, but especially Jelena.) Jelena dominated the 'ucks, and my impression is that Timea was a big reason for that. Her game complements Jelena's so well, both on offense and defense.
Here's your stat of the game - Points in Paint. OSU 46, UO 16. That's ridiculous!
The other stat that demonstrates how good Jelena was - Minutes Played. Beers 13, Mitrovic 27. You have to be doing pretty well for a coach to keep Raegan Beers on the bench! I'm not sure Raegan saw the floor in the 4th quarter.
My conclusion based on roughly 20 minutes of data:
Raegan+Anyone > Jelena+Anyone
Jelena+Timea > Raegan+Timea
It's not just the points she scores or really any stats in particular but just having another gifted player on the court has a big impact in general.
As for Mit, I wouldn't expect her to play like she did against UO on a consistent basis. She provides a better matchup inside with the Ducks than she does against other Pac-12 teams. She played 37 minutes and had 13 points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in the first meeting between the teams. Beers played 19 minutes, was 5 for 7 for 10 points and six rebounds.
Mit had nine points, 11 rebounds and two blocks in 27 minutes in the last game while Beers had nine points and four rebounds in 13 minutes.
Rueck clearly likes Mit as a defensive and size matchup against UO. Beers has clearly outperformed Mit in the other Pac-12 games. She had 19 points and 14 rebounds against USC. Mit had six points and eight boards. Beers had 22 points and 15 rebounds against UCLA. Mit had nine points and one rebound. Beers had 19 points and 10 rebounds against Arizona. Mit had 5 and 7. Beers had 20 points and 12 rebounds against ASU. Mit had 4 and 6. Beers had 8 and 12 vs. WSU. Mit had 2 and 3. Beers had 8 and 6 vs. UW. Mit had 2 and 2.
I don't think the Beavers would be very successful if Rueck kept playing Mit 27 minutes a game and Beers 13.
