In a tweet by Kerry Eggers...and I'm paraphrasing...Pat Casey is helping osu baseball coach Mitch Canham with a 6.5 million fund raising project to build an indoor batting facility in back of centerfield at Goss stadium.
"We're hoping to break ground after this season and have it ready in 2024" Casey says. "It's really going to be nice".
Thoughts...

Hope they are thinking about placing more Stands on top! I believe that it will be behind the batter's eye (the net and trees), so.......no.

Hope they are thinking about placing more Stands on top! I believe that it will be behind the batter's eye (the net and trees), so.......no. The trees are being removed, the building itself will serve as the batters eye. The center-field fence will be right in front of this building and CF will be straight across for a bit (like the new Comerica Park, image attached) before angling to the power alleys. If you've ever been to David Story Field at Lower Columbia in Longview, CF will sort of be like that, with the fence in front of the building instead of the building being part of the playing field. I think there will be some sort of alumni area on top of what will be a two-story building, not general seating. Hitting cages, baseball weight room, other amenities. Future plans are for permanent grandstands in left and right, capacity maxing out at about 6K.

We're Beavers. We cut down trees. That's what we do.

We're Beavers. We cut down trees. That's what we do. Real beavers would make a pond of the outfield.

The hitting facility is fully funded, completing the outfield seating and the restaurants in center will follow.

Hearing rumors of "premium" seating and donation requirements for some tickets. Seems to me paying nearly $500 for a season ticket already should count as "premium" seating.

Why are we talking about outfield seats when any needed extra seats should be built within 150-feet or so of home plate. It probably means extensive refurbishment or even demolition of existing seats but in reality they do seem "temporaryish."

Would it be possible to add a second deck to the grand stand around home plate? Up seems to be the only direction that makes sense to add seating where it matters.

That would be great to add a second deck behind the plate, but what would be the cost? 20 million? 25? 30? Could osu raise this kind of money for baseball? Football is different. Osu draws 3-5k for a game. Football 30+. Apples to oranges. I think the bowl of Gill Coliseum is next, and that won't be cheap.
