Every person on this team was recruited by tinkle. Some, frankly, shouldn't be playing at the division 1 level. But I can't blame a kid for taking a scholarship if offered. And no I won't shut up about the coach. Have a nice evening. So, you had a successful career as an NBA basketball coach? D1 level college basketball coach? Your couch must be comfortable. You love going with that lame argument. Well, if you haven’t done X, you can’t comment on X. Not an intelligent stance. There would be like 5 posts on here from people who played or coached at the college level. That would be great fun. Lighten up.

You know 14 or so months ago people were clamoring for a new football defensive coordinator. So were fans, couch coaches, wrong for hoping, pleading for a change. Or should people have kept their mouths shut and just accept whatever changes may or may not have been made? Obviously the change made had positive results. Did any of that clamoring make a difference? Because we were clamoring long before 14 months ago. But keep it up. You will get what you want someday. Few coaches last forever.

An overall 45% and 35% pac12 record should tell you something. But maybe not. And your expertise is? People. I know people. I know better than to disrespect 18-22 year old kids trying to play their best and how they feel when their best is used to beat on their coach. It may make you -- in your Lazy-Boy [emphasis on lazy] recliner -- feel superior, perhaps, allow you to deny your mediocrity in all things, but it does nothing for these kids doing their best to give you a product that you think, but really don't, you deserve. In short, you're the worst sort of fan. These kids don't deserve to read your BS. News Flash! The kids don’t follow Benny’s House.

I haven't blamed one player, not one. You guys are so into defending a guy that has a bad record you frankly are making crap up. You said they don’t belong. You said this, I understand, as an example of why Tinkle is a bad coach. But in your lust to put down Tinkle, you badmouthed every player on the team. Shame. Every player? Check yourself.

So here's some of my positives from the game from just the freshmen class. I'm thinking Rataj is getting more comfortable and is becoming more assertive in his play- I think he's going to be a good player for us as he matures. Pope is his usual solid self. I'm seeing flashes of good play out of Stevens in his limited playing time lately, including this game. Bilodeau will be a good player here. The rest I haven't seen enough of to comment on.
This is a young team that has not spent a lot of time together. We dont have a bunch if third and fourth year players to rely on. I'm looking forward to seeing how the injured transfers add to the team as they get up to speed. I alsi wish we'd have had Ryuny his whole career, good player.

Since obviously few, if any, of those complaining had D1 head football coach or defensive coordinator experience which is apparently required if there are negative opinions about a persons results. You we’re only allowed to complain if you were a D1 Defensive Coordinator, according to Jdog.

Tinkle does however need to make some adjustments in that we’ve started games or began halves completely unprepared many times so far this season. A little of both today unfortunately…..especially the second half. That was ugly

Once again the team just went out in the second half and Tinkled all over themselves.

I'm looking forward to seeing how the injured transfers add to the team as they get up to speed. I alsi wish we'd have had Ryuny his whole career, good player. I really would like to see them get Rataj more shots. I couldn’t find a halftime box score, but with only five shots total I’m not sure he took more than 1 or 2 shots during that miserable second half. There were times he was pleading for the ball down on the block in the second half and they wouldn’t get him the ball. I think the most impressive thing to me about Pope is that he’s doing things within the context of the offense. Often a freshman who is leading a team in scoring goes into ISO mode too often. Rarely see that with Pope. As to Bilodeau and Stevens, have seen some positive glimpses, but still way to early to tell on them. Now I sort of use Alfred Hollins as a measuring stick. Do we just see some positive glimpses or can we depend on them for consistent play. So far I’ve not seen anything to indicate they are going to be more than Hollins. That’s not necessarily a knock on them as it is still early in their freshmen years. And they’ve only received spotty minutes. I will say neither have looked like they are totally out of their element, which is good. That was a bit of a worry of mine about Stevens, but he certainly doesn’t look out of place. Unfortunately, it appears as if the difference between wins (or at least competitive games) and losses comes down to Taylor and Akanno. I say unfortunately because consistency is not their strength. I will give Taylor credit for seemingly handling the move to the second team fairly well. Not that it has improved his game, but he doesn’t seem to be moping. Akanno is the complete antithesis of Pope — often going outside the offense to get his shots and turning the ball over. I will say that the make up of the team isn’t doing him any favors. Probably not surprising that on a team that lacks offensive firepower, the upperclassman of the bunch would try to take on the burden. Unfortunately he’s much more suited to be a 4th or 5th option than a 1st or 2nd. And FYI, saw a tweet that Chol was out with ankle issue. No word on the severity of problem or whether he’ll miss more time.

I agree it is important Taylor seems to be handling his 6th man role well (see last year as case in point where attitudes were allowed to get out of control). BUT.....he made ZERO shots from the field in 27 minutes against a very winnable opponent. He did get to the line a few times at least.

He also spends a lot of time with the ball in his possession just dribbling outside. Would rather see Rataj with the ball in his hands more than Taylor. Taylor does get to the line at a decent clip, but it is usually from drives to the hoop when he is seemingly looking to be bailed out by a foul. And to often that doesn’t happen and he’s left with a weak shot attempt or turnover. He did have 3 steals also, so have to give him credit for that.

I would like to see Taylor pull up for an 8 foot jumper instead of always trying to take it all the way to the hoop. That's when he gets in trouble.
