I read somewhere that WT was brought on as DC. Now it appears that Mike Zimmer may be the DC and Willy will be the OC. Makes more sense. Former NFL head coach as your DC..........wow!!

I don't think how well the P12 does in the bowl season will have anything to do with our next TV contract. Unless, your are in the playoff, the other bowls don't show the networks much with the amount of portal transfers and opt outs. I was excited to play Florida, wish they weren't missing 29 of their players. It feels as though we are now in a no win situation. We win, and everyone points to Florida not being at full strength. We lose, and we lost to a team missing many of their top players. That being said, its really nice they we're recruiting players that want to play in the bowl game. Glad we have very little in the way of opt outs. To your first point. Regardless the validity, when teams from different conferences go head to head like they do in bowl games it's always used as a gauge of sorts. The better the P12 does the better the perception and momentum going into the off season. It certainly will not hurt negotiations seeing P12 teams all do well in their bowl games. To your second point, our individual bowl matchup, from a national audience perspective, people tune into bowl games based on name/brand recognition of the teams and conferences involved. UF clearly carries has both and OSU is also a household name in SEC country thanks to our baseball program. People will tune into this game and no matter the circumstances of which players play or not, in the coming years all that will be important/remembered is which team records the W next to their name.

To go with PT's hire, if the P12 performs well this bowl season the conference will be in an excellent position to negotiate deals. TV money is all about audience size and for the P12 that has everything to do with outside interest. PT's hire instantly elevated outside interest in CU/P12 in a way that was inconceivable a month ago. The time to capitalize on that is now. I don't think how well the P12 does in the bowl season will have anything to do with our next TV contract. Glad we have very little in the way of opt outs. Honestly we are down about as many starters as Florida, the difference is most of ours are out due to injury. Most of the guys transferring from Florida are highly ranked recruits who didn't get playing time with the new coach. (see u of oregon).
A strong argument can be made that Florida's depth and special teams have taken a huge hit, but remember when a 4 or 5 Star starter goes down in Gainesville, they are normally replaced by another 4 or 5 Star reserve. Wish that was the case for the Beavers, but we all know that's just not true here. At least not yet.
I don't feel the loss of their players in anyway will be a no-win situation for us. I hope we put a titanic beat down on the gators. And I hope it sends a message to all SEC teams to fear us!

They don't have a QB left on their roster that has thrown a pass for them. They are missing the majority of their WR's Also, we are getting quite a few of our injured players back. We are not going to be anywhere near 29 players that aren't playing. And no SEC team is going to fear us beating a depleted Florida team. Well, maybe Vanderbilt.

True but they named Jack Miller the qb starter. He was a 4 star recruit out of Arizona who backed up CJ Stroud at Ohio State before transferring to Florida. The talent is there, big question can he translate that into his first collegiate start?
I think I read they are down starters at QB, (1) offensive lineman, (1) defensive lineman, (1) linebacker and (1) DB. I think one of their NFL bound players opted to play the bowl. (Dexter)?
We know we are down our #1 QB (Nolan), Musgrave, Wright and a combination of starters who might or might not be ready for the bowl. So it's 4 vs 3 if you count Nolan as I do for starting player. Plus the unknowns due to injury or future guys declaring for the portal.
There's a big element of house cleaning going on at Florida which is understandable with a first year coach. Reading the bios of the players transferring, most saw extremely limited time and some never saw the field. So you lose 20 guys to the portal who basically hardly played, special teams and your depth takes a hit. But in terms of losing starters, both teams are pretty evenly matched.
I hope we get all the injured players back. I think Gould could really make a difference on returns in this game!

I don’t follow it closely enough, but I think the integrity of the Beaver team is still intact whereas FLA’s looks weakened by players opting out. Except for Rey, who apparently had a broken thumb in the CW, the team will be the same. Good enough for me. Let the O line punish them. I also hope that Bray is planning on making the new QB a nervous wreck by maintains heavy pressure on him.

Five years from now, when people read "Oregon State 35, Florida 7," nobody's gonna remember that Florida was playing with a depleted roster. They will look at that score and think, "Wow, the Beavers KTA."
When people see the score of the 1985 or 1987 Civil Wars, they don't remember that Don Lema and Kent Riddle ended up taking snaps for us because Wilhelm was injured. They remember that oregon kicked our butts.

I agree that Oregon State 41 - Florida 9 is going to look great in the history books.

I don't understand the hate for Sanders. I've watched a couple of his talks with the team and he holds everyone on his team, from coaches down to players, accountable. Letting them know that if they are even one minute late for the the Sunday meeting, they are off the team. He was an extremely hard worker and one of the best athletes of the last 100 years. He's made a crap ton of money, and instead of cashing a paycheck being a talking head, he is back to coaching the game that he loves. I'd rather play fir or be the fan of a team coached by him than just about any coach in the NCAA right now. Who is giving hate to Sanders? Talking heads? As a football fan, I think he's good for the sport. At JSU, he proved to be more than just a gimmick. It's yet to be seen whether he'll be able to do the same at CU. Whether he turns out to be just style, or turns out to have substance at this level, he'll be entertaining. I actually was initially nervous about Neon Deion going to the Buffs. Just one more really challenging place to play with a coach who can recruit like he can. Then I got real and considered that we should want our whole conference to keep upgrading. I believe that JS is the absolute best man for our job, and am confident that, like this year in which the top seven teams in our league were plenty good, he will ensure that the Beavs are consistently right in the thick of things. Finishing with six teams in the top 17 at the end of the regular season really has given the PAC 12 a boost on the national level. I want this league to be tough, by any measure, and to see at least two of our members in the Playoff every year once it expands to twelve teams. Another couple of years in the vicinity of this one, and it will be a virtual expectation that we are regularly getting two and occasionally a third into that tournament every year. Unlike the SEC, I hope we stick to nine league games each year, too. I admired Sanders’ talent and charisma as an athlete, and I find very little to fault him for in the coaching world. If flamboyance turns Beaver fans off, then they must not have liked GP when he lit up the gym with his game and his personality in the late 80’s for us!
