I don't understand the hate for Sanders. I've watched a couple of his talks with the team and he holds everyone on his team, from coaches down to players, accountable. Letting them know that if they are even one minute late for the the Sunday meeting, they are off the team. He was an extremely hard worker and one of the best athletes of the last 100 years. He's made a crap ton of money, and instead of cashing a paycheck being a talking head, he is back to coaching the game that he loves. I'd rather play fir or be the fan of a team coached by him than just about any coach in the NCAA right now. Who is giving hate to Sanders? Talking heads? As a football fan, I think he's good for the sport. At JSU, he proved to be more than just a gimmick. It's yet to be seen whether he'll be able to do the same at CU. Whether he turns out to be just style, or turns out to have substance at this level, he'll be entertaining.

For a school that is supposed to have unlimited resources, I find it interesting that uo hires a 33 year old OC that has only been an OC for one year, and three years ago was an Assistant Coach (not a head coach) at a high school. Seems like a young head coach that made some bone-head inexperienced moves his first season would want to add some experience around him, but I'm not complaining.

Deon seems like a solid coach and good guy. He has probably created more awesome highlights than most humans. Never get tired of watching him lace a baseball past Bo and go for an inside the park homer.

On the other hand, OSU is Jonathan Smith's first head coaching job and what did the former OC do for defense? Hired an experienced defensive coordinator who really did not pan out...at all. So Smith turned around and hired a guy who had never been a DC before and in turn got one of the best DC's in the Pac 12. You never know how these things will turn out. Deion Sanders was a high school offensive coordinator the year before he was hired as head coach of Jackson State in 2020, although he had been a high school head football coach before that.

Who was the last NFL All-Pro to become a head coach at a major college program? Props to Deion, who had a pretty cushy and lucrative gig as a media personality before going to FCS to coach. Heck, it's even difficult to think of an NFL coach who was an NFL All-pro. Bart Starr, Art Shell, now Jeff Saturday off the top of my head. I'm sure there are some I'm missing. Jack Del Rio.

Taggert’s on the move again? How the mighty have fallen. Not sure what you mean by fallen, he's getting paid plenty of money to not coach at Florida State. All I know (or care to know) about the guy is that he was a celebrated coach coming to U of O and he bolted back to Florida as soon as he could. Why should any Beaver fan follow his movements?

Diametrically OPPOSED fellers. I’d take JS, everyday…..every time. Probably only going to be a topic for us for... oh... three seasons max. He will jump ship to the first SEC job that offers him. First 8 win season he strings together at CU and he is out the door. I think he will do it fast though, I actually believe, as much as Deion is insufferable, he is a pretty good coach. You don't just stumble and bumble your way to an undefeated season, even at lower divisions. If anything, he is the best recruiter in the Pac-12 now. But that said, I say anything that gets TV eyes on Pac-12 football right now is a good thing. We still need to hope we have a conference in a couple years.

I have no hate for Prime time, but I'm also skeptical that he he will have sustained success. I mean I guess if he surrounds himself with great X's and O's guys, and he's the Jimmie and Joe's guy, it might work. Just seems gimmicky to me.....time will tell.

Find it funny that Sanders told his Colorado players that there will be no hat wearing and you aren't guaranteed a position yet he wears a hat and is bringing his son to be the starting qb.

To go with PT's hire, if the P12 performs well this bowl season the conference will be in an excellent position to negotiate deals. TV money is all about audience size and for the P12 that has everything to do with outside interest. PT's hire instantly elevated outside interest in CU/P12 in a way that was inconceivable a month ago. The time to capitalize on that is now.

I don't think how well the P12 does in the bowl season will have anything to do with our next TV contract. Unless, your are in the playoff, the other bowls don't show the networks much with the amount of portal transfers and opt outs. I was excited to play Florida, wish they weren't missing 29 of their players. It feels as though we are now in a no win situation. We win, and everyone points to Florida not being at full strength. We lose, and we lost to a team missing many of their top players. That being said, its really nice they we're recruiting players that want to play in the bowl game. Glad we have very little in the way of opt outs.

Willy Taggert brought in as a recruiter. He is not a very good head coach. I being a Braves fan enjoyed watching Sanders play years ago. I have nothing negative to say. I believe we all will wonder how this works: He will change that culture in a Spring. That is fast. Ours changed from 2018 to now. Both ways work. If we can sustain I will be happy.
