Is the dude genuinely out for the season or they hoping he comes back for the Civil War? This my biggest gripe about the coaching staff, they keep all these injuries about our biggest playmakers so secretive ya’d think they were about Area 51. Just friggen tell us!!! Enough with the zipped lips!!!

Making the opposition have to plan for the possibility of 2 QB's is always an advantage for our team.

Those two QBs are more likely to be Gulbranson and Gebbia at this point.

Regarding Gebbia I'm hoping he scores the game winning last minute/second touchdown on a quarterback sneak against the ucks.

This my biggest gripe about the coaching staff, they keep all these injuries about our biggest playmakers so secretive ya’d think they were about Area 51. Just friggen tell us!!! Enough with the zipped lips!!! I felt like an update on Chance was missing from the Monday Presser and the injury list. I know we are coming further in re-evaluation of Concussions but this is too long of a recovery in my non medical opinion for just a concussion. I also read and heard neck strain and I'm wondering if there was structural damage. I was out of the country on Vacation and not at the game in person, I assume Chance was seen on the sideline? In street clothes? I have found it to be odd he isn't signaling in plays, holding a clip board, part of the offensive meetings during time outs etc. That seems to be customary to have your injured QB1 apart of the game even when they can not physically play. I do think there is more to the story that the coaches are not at liberty to say and frankly may not be best for all involved to divulge. My own guessing for sure but this situation is certainly more than a concussion. What this team has done after losing Musgrave, Nolan, Brewer... and the list of lost for multiple games goes on is truly a credit to the coaching staff both building depth and coaching up everyone so they can contribute. Proud of all these guys for sure. My advice is simply don't expect to see Nolan play for us again this year and if he does you will be pleasantly surprised. Fingers crossed that the list of injuries from Cal were minor and we get that group who left the game back quickly and healthy.

To me, health information is different from sports injury information. That was pushed by at least one specific person to be added to the law. It's weird anyway, because if the injury is sustained in a game, it's public knowledge. I'm not saying that the general public needs every little detail. It doesn't. But the coaches certainly can say (and most do) whether or not a player is out for the season or day-to-day or that they hope to get the player back before the end of the season. However, there are no specific rules against injury reports and it seems that those reports can be somewhat detailed...here is a section from a sports betting report done by legalsportsreport: "HIPAA is not a meaningful obstacle to releasing reliable medical information useful to books and bettors and eliminating a market for information. It is simply a red herring, as athletes could be expected to waive limited rights for the release of certain medical information. Additionally, the information necessary for release need not be exceptionally detailed to protect the integrity of athletes and betting markets." And an individual player can give every little bit of info to someone who asks if they so choose. I think some players (not just in football) think that they can't talk about it or are being told not to. But it's really their choice. Basically, coaches are just choosing to keep the info close to their vests. It's an interesting subject.

Yeah we can choose to make witty and snarky remarks, and pretend like it's nothing.....but at end of the day, it's hard to disagree with the poster here. It is a bit odd. My guess is he's done for season, like someone early on here said was the case for Musgrave. And he was right. It's minor gripe, and I won't lose sleep over it. My hope is we get Gebbia back in there. Before CW.

Concussions can linger for months - the NHL's reigning MVP missed an entire season's worth of games to one in 2011-12.
