Great performance last night Not much you can do about it if you want to win a game like that one, but my only worry is that 4 of the starters played more than 30 minutes last night. WT needs to get as many as possible real game experience. The win last night was too important to this team to worry about last night, but I hope over next 3 games we see more extended minutes for the bench other than Andela. Already under manned with Rochelin and Wright out, so need to develop rest of bench as quick as possible.

The Beavs were favored by 1.5. Obviously Vegas has no clue. There's a reason the lights stay on in Vegas, they know what they are doing more than you do. I see you disappeared completely during the comeback.

The bigger issue that I see is that we are pretty small if Marial and Andela get in foul trouble, like last night. That is not going to work out well against conference opponents.

Agree on the size issue. Are they going to try and redshirt Ibekwe? Not sure how much help he’d be, but he is a big body. Guess if we don’t see him at all over next 3 games, they’ll do their damndest to save year of eligibility. As to the two injured, I’m in the we’ll see camp too. Never can tell with injuries.

Where does a lack of size hurt us the most? Defense, rebounding, interior scoring? The game to me has become so perimeter oriented, can a Rataj or Bilodeau develop into an interior player who can help us with this deficiency?

Clearly they play better when you are dreaming.

Heard a stat from Mike Parker last night. OSU is 9-0 in season openers under Tinkle. Maybe OSU needs to make every game a season opener? lol

Protecting the basket and rebounding would be my worries if one or both of our centers go down. Andela had one-quarter of our rebounds in 18 minutes. Chol’s blocks were also big. You also have to worry about the impact on the offense. The game has become more perimeter oriented, but Tinkle likes to play with a more traditional 5. How much do they practice a 5-out offense? Only one game, but I didn’t see anything to lead me to believe Bilodeau will be much help on the interior this year should he be forced to play there more. Maybe we’ll see more of that as games go here. I like what I saw of Rataj in his limited minutes and think he’ll help on boards. But, again, not really an interior presence at the moment. Hopefully Andela and Chol stay healthy and we don’t need to find out. I do think Chol might struggle with foul trouble pretty often because of how he plays. But, hey, only one game, so who knows.

I went to bed at halftime in a real grumpy mood. What the hell happened??? Aha! So the first half was YOUR fault. Will it be a problem for you to sleep through all the remaining games?

I see you disappeared completely during the comeback. I'm happy the beavs won. But don't be all giddy about it. The Beavs were 1-0 last year too. Then went 2-28. Some will be ecstatic if they get all of 10 wins this year.

So, we should dismiss this win as unimportant because last year started the same way? Or just brush it off because it *may* be one of only a few wins? Isn't that kind of like making excuses for wins? If we don't want to hear coaches give reasons ("excuses") for not panicking when things go badly, should we want to hear anyone give reasons ("excuses") for belittling it when things go well?
