Why old assistant coach Thompson was on the bench with players? I thought he was fired?

I think everyone on here who saw Pope play in those high school games on ESPN late in season knew we got a steal with him. Not sure anyone saw this in his first game though.

I'm kinda excited about this group of kids.
Pope kinda looks like Mark Radford in his 2nd year already. Taylor is solid. Akanno did some great stuff, was money at the free throw line. Andela was strong in the 2nd half. Mariol was a defensive force when he was in. Ryuny did some very good stuff.... It could be a much more interesting year than last.
Announcers said it was the 2nd biggest halftime comeback for OSU ever.

2nd Half OSU shot 62%(5/7 3pt), Tulsa 31%. OSU outrebounded Tulsa 18-7 in 2nd Half. OSU ended up with 10 blocks. Tulsa 0 blocks.

Only one game, but Taylor showing he has raken a step forward. And Akanno showed very small glimpses of what he could do at the end of last year, but now finally putting it together. I liked what little I saw of Rataj. Think he’ll be another nice piece with some game experience under his belt. |

Helluva win! That second was real fun to watch.
I think a lot of us were thinking that we the best we could hope for was to see the team play with real effort and work together as a team. That's exactly what we got this game.
Great win to start the season!

Really liked what i saw in the second half for this team. Akanno,Andela,Pope,Marial,etc are guys I'm excited about. This team competes,and that's all I can ask from this young group. The first half should have been expected. Lots of new pieces meshing together. I said 11-14 wins on the season in my prediction. I think we are very capable of it. Maybe more...who knows?

I didn’t get to watch the first half, so I can’t comment on why we were down 19, but the second half was impressive. Guys really contesting 3’s, forcing long 2’s or funneling Tulsa right into our shot blockers.
Can’t allow as many offensive rebounds as we did, but overall it looks like a fun team that’s going to give effort on the defensive end. Excited to see them develop.
