If that ever happens here I would be Angry. That would be a tough pill to swallow.

3 straight HR with 2 out! Ouch. Has THAT EVER happened in the CWS championship series? Doubt it. Happened in 1998. Of course that was at the end of the juiced bat era.

How would you like to be a Mississippi State fan right now? Win it all for the first time ever a year ago, only for your rival to take the crown one year later. Yikes, could you imagine if one of our rivals won back to back in '11 and '12. I'm not thinking about it and it still wants to make me puke. Help me out ag87, what led you to choose not only a back to back scenario but a year(s) that didn't follow a beaver nc?

It took a couple years to get better than bad. Not sure of the year when Kent State came out here and won the super-R.

Sadly if that would have happened I would have needed a team of doctors 😂

That was great, when the left fielder with the $1,000 pair of Oakley's got a bad read on a fly ball in the sun and the winning run scored.

Okie can't seem to do the little things. Like catch the ball. Damn they are handing the game to Ole Miss.

Feel happy for Ole Miss. Second NCAA national title in Ole MIss athletics history. First one was a year ago in women's golf. I say NCAA national title, as there are three claimed football titles.

Mississippi played better. They got hot at the right time...sort of like us in 2007 (or was it 06?)...Barely make it in, get hot and roll '07. Played through a tropical storm in the Regional, too. Barry in '07, and Alex in '22. Arizona started their Saturday starter over their ace in game one, which helped spring Ole Miss. The Rebels' #2 beat Canes' ace, and Ole Miss' #3 was able to beat Arizona's #4. Good Super Regional pairing helped. Hattiesburg was just about the best place that Ole Miss could hope to play in, and Southern Miss had to come out of the losers' bracket to win the Hattiesburg Regional, burning up arms. In game one, Auburn chose to get cute and switched Bright and Gonzalez in Omaha, throwing Gonzalez on five days' rest. In game two, Arkansas then decided to give Zach Morris his second start on the season at Omaha for reasons that I am sure make sense in retrospect. In the semifinal, DeLucia was able to come back to throw against Arkansas' ace, Connor Noland. Ole Miss only scored two, just like Stanford. But DeLucia was better than Alex Williams, throwing a shutout. (Arkansas scored two on DeLucia at Baum eight weeks ago. Noland gave up four.) Ole Miss' #2 outpitched Oklahoma's ace. Ole Miss could not do much against Oklahoma's #2, but Oklahoma's closer imploded, handing Ole Miss the win on two wild pitches. Sometimes, you need that one pitcher to find that extra something for three or four straight starts. Nickerson had five great starts in the 2006 postseason, Reyes had four great starts in 2007 after barely being good enough to be a Sunday starter for most of the season, and Abel had three great starts (and two great relief appearances) in 2018 after barely being good enough to be a Sunday starter for part of the season. And most times, it's better to be lucky than good. All three of Oregon State's Championship teams had things break the wrong way and were lucky that things turned out so well.
