New Mexico St is having a lot of fun in the tournament, which is one of the things I like about college baseball.
This team was "dead in the water" until they won 4 straight in the WAC tournament.
If the tournament only selected the top 64 teams, we wouldn't get a New Mexico St or a Yale/Holy Cross ( 2017) in Corvallis.
IMO the smaller conference, even though they don't have the depth, have players & coaches who grind & work hard.
Those players & coaches get rewarded by getting a bid to the playoffs.(I'm glad its so)
I like the current playoff format........ a lot.
