Having driven through there several times, Sacramento and Stockton suck. Reno is too cold. You are getting too far North for a Springtime conference Tournament. If you are going to move it away from Phoenix/Vegas, it has to be closer to the Southern California coast. Reno too cold? At the end of May? High 60's to low 80's... averages about 73, 3 days of rain. Reno: May 22-26, 2019: Wed 22 58°/41° Light Rain 9 mphThu 23 60°/49° Light Rain 9 mph Fri 24 69°/45° Thunderstorm with Light Rain 7 mph Sat 25 65°/41° Thunderstorm with Light Rain 9 mph Sun 26 56°/39° Light Rain 13 mph Championship Game would have been on Sunday the 26th. 13 mph wind with gusts up to 24 mph. Wind chill of 28 degrees. Just to give a complete picture, the low wind chill each day: 33, 43, 35, 31 and 28. I should have to go back more than three years to find a year like that. Reno is in the Sierra Nevadas. It is too wet, too cold, too windy and there are too many thunderstorms. Getting in and out with consecutive days of thunderstorms is also very problematic. Can you imagine watching the SEC Tournament, the ACC Tournament and the Big 12 Tournament, and then you turn over to the Pac-12 Championship Game in Reno with a wind chill of 28? Good gravy. No!

Lol... I think you need to stop pulling random data that fits your purpose. The weather in May is typically perfect for baseball. Averages as stated lows in the high 40's/low 50's early morning. Highs in the high 60's to high 70's. Monthly May averages 46/74 with barely a drop. 5/24-5/29 averages 0.02" a day! So far, the first 15 days 41/67 with two days of a trace of rain. Not sure which Reno or which month you're looking at?! Lol

Phoenix is a fine choice. But they should be playing in Chase Field with the roof closed if it is going to be there. I wonder if they will rotate the tournament around the West Coast or if it will always be in Scottsdale. Initial deal is thru 2024 I believe. So it appears at least the first (3) tourneys will be in Scottsdale. Reno is probably a decent compromise if they could cut a deal with the Reno Aces and the city. It's typically far cooler, newer AAA quality stadium with 9k+ seats, downtown location, and easy travel destination in a more neutral site. Great little stadium.

Lol Reno: May 23-27, 2018: Wed 23 76°/48° Light rain and thunder 6.4 mph Thu 24 77°/54° Heavy thunderstorm and rain 8.1 mph Fri 25 62°/51° Thunderstorm and rain 10.5 mph Sat 26 59°/46° Light rain 8.2 mph Sun 27 73°/44° Mostly cloudy/fair 4.8 mph The year before 2019. Low wind chills each day for the five days: 40, 47, 44, 38 and 37.
I was helping to organize an international legal/client conference meet-and-greet thing in July 2018. And someone from I want to say Massachusetts (or Florida or Ohio or Virginia, somewhere back East) started talking about averages in Tucson. The average high is only 100. Only five days of rain. We should hold our five-day international conference in Tucson. And I piped up and started to talk about haboobs and monsoons and floods and diamondbacks and scorpion season. And I got the whole thing moved to Canada.
The results:
There were thunderstorms and rain for three of the five days of the conference in Tucson. The worst day was Friday, and that was the day of all of the outside activities and events. The third-worst day was Saturday, when everyone went home.
And the conference that we actually held in Canada was beautiful, because I am not an idiot.
Averages are just that. You are not throwing out standard deviations or anything, just averages. It could be just absolutely terrible 12 days in a four year period, some wrath of God stuff. But the averages say that it is only bad three days a year! Just looking at the last four years, it is gorgeous 11 days out of 20, but it is absolutely awful for nine of those days. You cannot have a Pac-12 Tournament in Reno. The weather is too unpredictable, because of elevation. The Tournament must be further South or nearer to the Coast. La Niñas are beautiful in Nevada. Hot and dry, drought-like conditions. The last two years. Great weather for baseball. Before 2020 was El Niño, cold and wet in Nevada.

They should have it at Petco in San Diego every year and work it out with Padres. No true home team (advantage to LA schools a bit but whatever). Gorgeous stadium and perfecft weather.

And Reno has the casino stuff and great outdoor activities.....I approve of this idea!

Fun fact. The midpoint of the 11 Pac-11 baseball ballparks is Smith Valley, Nevada in beautiful Lyon County, Nevada.

Bright and beautiful all thru the week/weekend, 72-86. Lows? They are essentially 2-4am and higher than most of the highs we've played in!? Wind 10-20mph, virtually no chance of rain. We play in similar wind and pouring rain. Hmmmm... not sure why you keep posting "lows" that will not effect games.

Question. can the Beavs beat AZ in a series? Seriously, it looked like AZ was a much more dangerous team than the Beavs, who struggled to even win one game and were clearly outplayed in the other 2 games? Do they just match up better, or did we lay a coupe eggs down there?

There’s no way in hell they going to play the PAC 12 tournament in Reno ever. First... who really cares what you think. Second, and most importantly, it's an argument. It was a friendly conversation on other sites. No mention of it actually happening. But, I believe some said the Pac12 would never play in Vegas! Third... quit all your divisive BS.
