Coming down the homestretch, I think we need to shore up the ship a bit. The bottom of the orer has shown some improvement but the BA's continue to hover around the .200 - .215 mark. The OB% is better recently, so there is that.
A growing concern is the DH hole. That's a spot in the order you have to see some production, and we are languishing. For example, over the last 8 games our Designated Hitters have made 34 plate appearances with a 5-29 hitting stat for a .172 BA. We have 3 BB, 2 HBP, and 11 K's. That's not what we need.
We don't know the condition of Wheeler's vision but we know Fuchs strugges to hit his pitch. There is no easy answer other than possibly using Tanner Smith and Logan there on their off days catching. Right now it is a big concern with men on base.

Fuchs watches too many 3rd strikes....other than that, maybe Guerra? Trosky? Why not?

Brought my signs to PK tonight. Walked down the steps to the top of the dugout twice. The second trip brought the wrath of a bunch of uck fans. Mostly loudmouthed college kids, who bailed between the 7th and 8th inning. I guess Mommy had to tuck them in tonight, after they got home. Anyway, the two that chapped their butts the most were "PK Park. The house that Casey built". And "You can't buy your way to Omaha". I also loved their between inning stunts they do, it's like being at a minor league game. Sacks races, breaking balloons by sitting on them, kids dancing on top of the dugout. Stupid stuff that nobody else in the Pac-12 does.Attendance at tonight's game was 2493, almost 1000 more than they had at Sundays game against Wazzu. Those extra fans were wearing orange and black! I'm curious, what's wrong exactly with between-inning entertainment?

I think it's safe to assume at this point that MC does not want to DH his backup catcher in case something happens to the starter during the game. If the one DH'ing had to replace the starting catcher, he would lose the DH position for the rest of the game.

Yup, pretty sure our third catcher is still injured too.

Yea I get all that....but our two catchers are flat out better hitters than any of our other options for DH.....I'd like to see Guerra get some more AB's though. That kid is the future.

Keeps fans engaged, especially kids, and those who maybe aren't there just to geek out on the matchup on the field. That said, the massive yellow toilet seat in center pretty much negates any positives that may or may not happen at that park.

This ain't the Eugene Emeralds or Corvallis Knights. College baseball is a serious business, and this game is definitely WAR. But don't tell the ucks that. Let them go through their antics at PK. When they come to Goss, all 40 of them, they'll understand what college baseball is supposed to be. And baby, it's game on. No time for their childish crap.

Says the fan of the team with the "strike out chainsaw" Also, using the term WAR for college sports has no place. There's a whole thread about it.

You mean like "childish" signs and prancing down to the dugout to get noticed?? Curious, asking for a friend.
