Late Sunday game is to accomodate LDS Church services and activities during the day.

Friday and Saturday 10:00AM start time...I know some on this board consume a bit of alcohol to get through the games, which I completely support. Day drinking not something that folks think twice about...but morning drinking...on a week day...against a team from Utah...?

Are there any games ever played late on Sunday in Omaha? Yes, but at about 3,200' lower elevation.

Are there any games ever played late on Sunday in Omaha? Game ended about 9:32 p.m. local. A fun fact is that Oregon State has not played a game at Omaha on a Sunday since.

Are there any games ever played late on Sunday in Omaha? Admittedly a somewhat rhetorical/loaded question. If you play on a Sunday night in Omaha, things must be going at least OK. I just thought we could use game 3 in Utah as a preclude to the CWS!🫰

The only way to play on Sunday, if you do not start on Sunday is if there is enough rainouts to push a Semifinal game from Saturday to Sunday.

Actually the new schedule this year starts on Friday and then Saturday. First time for that I believe. linkYou are correct. They apparently changed the College World Series back schedule back in January. It now is like the 2003-2012 schedule, like when Oregon State won in 2006 and 2007. That really puts a premium on pitching and makes coming out of the losers' bracket harder. Jonah Nickerson had to start on Monday, Thursday and Monday to save Oregon State in 2006. On the other hand, North Carolina was almost completely out of gas in 2007 after coming out of the losers' bracket. I take it all back. The Beavers would play late on Sunday, if they win their first game on Friday or in game two of the Championship Series. Or, of course, if there are rainouts that affect the earlier games and alters the schedule. Another thing that changed this year from last year? TD Ameritrade Park is now known as Charles Schwab Field.

Someone remind me... Was Jorge Reyes hurt in 2008, or did he just pitch poorly? How did he get drafted after only two years of college ball? Seems like star freshman Beaver pitchers who pitch amazingly in the CWS are a bit snake bit the next year.

He was still an every weekend starter his next two years at Oregon State. He started Oregon State's last win in 2009, the 13-5 win over A&M in the Fort Worth Regional, a complete game 10 H, 5 R, 3 ER performance.

I read his bio on osubeavers.com wrong, it made it sound like he didn't pitch in 2009, which he did, and pretty well, 6-2, 4.2 ERA in 81 innings. Baseball cube got me straightened out Looks like at least up unitil Covid shut down some of the other professional leagues he was still pitching professionally in Mexico. Same team as Heimlich in 2019, has the Mexican league started back up yet?
