Someone apparently violated the "unwritten rules" of baseball. And the requisite penalty was administered.
A pretty good demonstration of the physics principle of F=ma "Force = Mass x Acceleration".

Watching carefully, the pitcher started dashing toward the batter before he hi-fived the 3rd base coach. I guess I need the "unwritten rule" spelled out for me because I don't see anything that deserved the pitcher's response.
OTOH, he never touched home plate, so that's one way to keep the point off the board.

I'm impressed by the pitcher's angle of approach. If you slow the clip down to 25% you can see him make his last step somewhat down the line before launching. This allows him to pivot off his left foot and meet his target head-on instead of from the side. He certainly delivered his message.

No excuse for that behavior. The pitcher should be benched for an extended period of time until he learns appropriate actions.

Nice form on the tackle. Their football coach should give him a call. By the way if anybody saw Tyson on tv yesterday he gave the guy what he deserved. Too many smart mouths out there that don't get what they deserve.

Well, as Werebeaver points out that the batter's behavior roused the umpire's dissatisfaction. He was certainly going to have words with the batter. So yeah, the pitcher shouldn't have done that, but the batter did something to provoke that response. He was a dick at least.

I see a pitcher frustrated because he gave up a 2 run homer. If the batter said something he should be dealt with but there is no excuse for the pitcher's actions. He blindsided the runner.
I'd like more information

I'm not sure how to get that to post without all the embed information, but there's some more information about the incident.

Notice how the pitcher’s teammates didn’t rush in quickly after he made the tackle. Hell, his catcher couldn’t believe what he just saw, and then quickly grabbed the pitcher before he got seriously hurt. You know you really f%#*ed up when your own teammates don’t run in to defend you. How could they when one does stupid s%#t like that?

Hey it’s me pedantic, physics d-bag. TECHNICALLY this is a demonstration of the conservation of linear and angular momentum. A lot of it.
