Watching carefully, the pitcher started dashing toward the batter before he hi-fived the 3rd base coach. I guess I need the "unwritten rule" spelled out for me because I don't see anything that deserved the pitcher's response. OTOH, he never touched home plate, so that's one way to keep the point off the board. You don’t see it in that video, but he eventually gets up and trots home. #Respect |

Another example of how out here on the west coast we "just don't take sports seriously enough". If true, the most tragic/comic thing about it is that it's in a game between 2 private Christian institutions. Disciples of Christ (Bethany) vs Methodists (Wesleyan). We've got some folks there who have seriously strayed off the path of righteousness. And frankly, I don't think the #buckfethany tag helps anything  |

But isn't Bethany College associated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church of America? Bethany College and Kansas Wesleyan University are archrivals. Both of the schools each have less than a thousand students. Bethany College was founded by Swedish Lutherans immigrants and are nicknamed the Terrible Swedes. Their mascot is a Viking. Bethany is where Martha, Mary and Lazarus lived, where Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead.  Tomb of Lazarus, 1906. #buckfethany does not help anything, shows a great degree of ignorance and probably is blasphemous. |

Reminds me of the first time I brought a 5 gallon cooler of ice water to one of my little league games when it was over 90 degrees.
First kid who comes in to the dugout after warm ups goes over to the cooler, pops off the lid, and dunks his head in it.
That was my first lesson to tape the lid shut on the water cooler around 10-year-olds.
