I'm in the camp of not feeling that a tournament is necessary, as the conference plays a true round robin. But going into this, expect this, only the first game for each day will start on time. And don't be surprised should the final game of the first two days end after midnight, unless the first game of days 1 and 2 starts at 8am. Also, I hope its a true double-elimination format, and not the silly modified one, where you go through the winners bracket and reach the final day, but if you lose to the team who came out of the losers bracket, that losers bracket team is crowned the champion without having lost a second game.

I'm in the camp of not feeling that a tournament is necessary, as the conference plays a true round robin. I feel the same way. I always thought that the team that slogged through the conference round-robin over nearly 3 months to win the conference title should get the auto-bid and not some team that got hot on one weekend. Without a tourney, I always thought that our players, particularly our pitchers looked sharper in post-season play against those schools that were fighting in a tournament for an auto-bid or trying to keep their conference crown.

What if the format is two pools of four teams, then the winners of each pool play for the championship? Not the most exciting way, but it keeps the three game series format with only one possible additional game.

With a double-elimination, isn't the minimum amount of games you will have to play 5 to win the tournament but possibly 6 or 7? That's why you see those 18-14 games in tournaments. What's the point? I think I would like it more if they only brought the top 4, or top 6 and give the top 2 byes. There needs to be some reward for doing well throughout the year.

It will be 2 pools, both that will function same as a Regional with double elim and then the winner of each pool will play in a single game Championship....would be great if it was "true double elimination" in that final, but for pitching purposes, that's not what schools want. Teams ranked #1,4,5,8 will be in one pool, #2,3,6,7 in the other with 1v8,4v5, etc. playing on day 1
Looking like exactly what orangeblood just posted, ha.

I still like top 6 teams and give the top 2 a bye. Teams 7 and 8 in a 11 team league don't deserve to play in tournament.

Have not seen Pac12 tourney details posted yet.

That is a standard double elim bracket (sort of... has an extra game in the losers bracket and none as a possibility in finals... if one team has a loss and win forcing a 2nd game... as indicated on Pac12 ticket package), not pool play as indicated would match the B12. It is however what I thought was going to happen.

That is not a pool play tournament bracket. I have seen nothing to say otherwise.

I don't believe that the Tournament will look like that. It should look more like the Big 12 Tournament or (here's hoping) the SEC Tournament, just without the play-in games.

How do you extrapolate that conclusion from the data provided in the link?

We’ve lost atleast two games developing pitchers with GCU game 2 and Gonzaga game 3. The first Nevada game was a real squeeker too. It’s already paid off with Lattery really blossoming and I would say Lawson, Townsend and Verberg are improving. Verberg is actually pretty good in short relief. I just would only use him for 1 inning though. He usually gets through his first 3-4 batters pretty well. It's after that he fades quick. Actually Verburg has excelled doing 2 innings the last game and 2 2/3 innings the game before.....if he can continue to build upon those two games....I can see him becoming a solid middle relief pitcher for the next couple of months
