"It's a message board" should not be an excuse to be an asshole. There's a difference between saying "Verburg is struggling, I don't know why they keep putting him out there in close games" and "Verburg is DONE, I hope we don't ever see him again." There's a difference between saying "I wouldn't have sent the runner there" and "The coaching staff just showed how over its head they are by trying to score there. These guys are terrible." It just gets old, seeing people go in on the guys we are allegedly the biggest fans of. Gets really old. Perhaps I overreacted. Get sick of hearing how bad our pitchers are. Show me another team anywhere that could lose 2 or 3 (if you count Mundt) starting pitchers and still win the way the Beavs have. I'll wait. Past all the flame war I agree. We actually have lost much more than that. We lost Abel, Burns, Salgado and, Watkins to the pros, Mulholland to graduation and Washburn to transfer. Then you add Pfennings, Mundt and Frisch to injury. I would argue that Verberg is still kinda lost to injury although I have hope for the guy. That’s 9 guys who would be starting, closing or playing serious relief. Seeing that list it’s no surprise we made it so far with weak offense last year and that the offense is carrying us now. If Kmatz wasn’t such a stud freshman we would be absolutely screwed. Edit: Ferrer and Carpenter have been the other truly critical additions to the first half of the season. Props to the coaches for finding 3 game ready guys. |

It just gets old, seeing people go in on the guys we are allegedly the biggest fans of. I've been frustrated with the decision to bring in Verburg. And yes, I comment on it. I never called the coaches idiots, or said anything about Verburg other than he seemed to be toast, and I was surprised the coaches kept putting him in, in pressure situations.....I understand they are trying to implement him in.....it's just frustrating to watch it not work out time and again. The "uncle" thing directed at irimi was after he had already pretty much called me an idiot.....hell, after the initial interaction where he said Verburg would figure it out, I responded with " I hope ur right".....I do hope he figures it out! I'll gladly eat crow if it makes our team better! That irimi guy just gets under my skin.....I'll try my best to ignore him. |

Constant bickering between "negative Nancys" and the "positive Pollys". IMO, there's a difference between someone saying "pitching sucks, and we'll be lucky to make a regional" vs showing frustration like I have.......but I get grouped into the "negative Nancys" and personally attacked, then the fight starts. |

Message boards remind me of what we do to each other on the road.
It's anonymous, so I'm just going to go ahead and be a total jackass, or argue right past someone, or say things I would never say to someone's face... because I can. The poster who has to argue every point into a bloody pulp reminds me of the guy who will tailgate me incessantly even when I'm not going slow at all, only to JUST BARELY go a fraction of a MPH faster when I get over to let him pass, all so he can be "first".
Just like the road, it seems to be a place that can bring out the worst in us. At the same time, when someone shows some grace on here or on the road it can be a real shot in the arm.
Can't we all just get along? -RKing

Their 1 was Tidwell who just last week threw one inning out of the bullpen for his first outing of the season. Their 2 Seth Halvorsen still has yet to throw an inning this season. My son is a freshman at GCU. Asked him if he went to the game and he said no he’s busy doing homework. Scratching checks for tuition and I still have mixed emotions about his priorities ; ) Told him not to let it happen again.
