So, they out drew OSU by %... 60% to like 38% You can have 38% of a family size pizza or 60% of a personal pan pizza. Which would you prefer? The container matters. Plus, you’re looking at stats from 2021-22. Our worst year ever. It was an attempt an humor. OSU hoops is never going to be a huge draw again. If they take 60-70% average draw I'd be amazed.

With every game on TV, some crazy late start times, and a large portion of the fan base 1 hr+ away... pretty confident they'll not average 6-7k+ unless they become a yearly member of the top 25.

Hope he enjoys playing in a 2A High School Gym. Sac State is a commuter college. No more than 300 dorm rooms.

I don’t really understand your negativity. Why be a fan if it just makes you grumpy and unhappy? It doesn’t make sense to me.

I don’t really understand your negativity. Why be a fan if it just makes you grumpy and unhappy? It doesn’t make sense to me. I guess we'll have to see if OSU can maintain a 60-70% attendance rate for any extended time. Given the past 30+ years of OSU MBB, plus the TV games, and overall Pac12 attendance has fallen off every season since '16-17, it will make it tougher to do so. Pretty simple assertion that has ZERO to do with "negativity", but the reality of the new opportunities available to fans and it's not specific to OSU MBB or athletics in general. Unlike you I attend almost every home event that doesn't conflict with a family event. Better fan than you? Not stating that at all, but more than just the keyboard warrior you seen to be, and certainly not negative about supporting OSU athletics and academics. You must have a miserable life to go around making off the wall assertions. I'm guessing you're the grumpy arse that in his disappointment tries to bring others down to his level. Try to stick to too what it is you know, which by the way, isn't the make up, demeanor, or personalities of other posters. You're inane conclusions from fairly innocuous posts are beyond humorous, and at times border on pitiful. You'd think you'd reread some of your foolhardy posts and be more cautious in your jumping to conclusions and what you say on this board, but instead you continually remove all doubt to your egocentric existence. FYI, just in case you actually believe in factual representations of reality: '21-22 3666 '20-21 0 '19-20 4742 '18-19 5119 '17-18 5066 '16-17 4993 '15-16 6256 '14-15 6988 '13-14 3946 '12-13 4784* First season of Pac12 TV deal... I think?? '11-12 4991 '10-11 5318 '09-10 6084 '08-09 5223 '07-08 4579 '06-07 5165 '05-06 6618 '04-05 7019 '03-04 5345 No TV package for every game may have boosted the years prior to '12-13 season?? But, the (9) seasons prior OSU broke 60% average attendance (2) times, 70% once. The (9 / Covid year not counted) seasons since the TV deal, 60% once, 70% once. TV deals have changed the landscape of attendance, and again I'll be surprised if the MBB program can sustain 60-70% attendance without a run of Top 25 teams. And, it's not specific to OSU. Have a super weekend!

Have a super weekend! It's a sad reality that this is the way college sports are going in a lot of the country outside of the blue blood schools or the SEC. This is probably part of why the SEC and some bigger schools want to break off into their own 40-50 school super league for athletics. For me personally, watching on TV doesn't come close to matching going to a game in person. I would much rather be there to cheer on the team, heckle officials and certain opponents, and be a part of the game day experience vs. sitting on my couch watching it at home. I also live in Corvallis which makes this possible for me though.
You don't have to look any further than football attendance this last year to see the overall shift in mindset in the fan base. Undefeated at home, first winning season and bowl game since 2013, and yet had the worst attendance since I believe before the new side expansion other than one GA year (I think Wilky put the numbers up on this somewhere). OSU has a small group of some of the most loyal fans in the country (most of us on here are probably a part of that), but we just don't have a large fan base or a fan base that loves to show up and support the "money-maker" programs on a large scale. At least not anymore.
It wasn't THAT long ago we had crowds of 46-47,000 at football games, or 8-9,000+ at basketball games (these even happened in the WT era), but a lot has changed in that time. Capacity for Reser is going to go below 40,000 for crying out loud, that alone should say enough about where a lot of people are in terms of attending games in person. We probably will just have to live with it and unfortunately it sucks for the players and coaches and IMO contributes to the overall quality of play in the Pac-12 dropping as recruits want to play in full stadiums with a better atmosphere than we and our other West Coast programs can provide across the major sports.

In all seriousness Tinkle has a contract in which he is due millions but can't he see the problem he created and simply take a buyout and walk away. This last year was really bad this next year will simply be God awful.
