Makes you wonder who's going to start in the backcourt next year now. Both starters from this season are gone.
Thank you Jarod, for the last 3 years. Hopefully in the end guys like him and Calloo are remembered much more for the elite 8 run than the debacle that was last season.
edit: I'll change this to include Gianni also is entering the portal since I was beaten to the punch.

I feel bad for any fan that remembers the 2021-22 team more than the 2020-21 team.

This is just par for the course in today’s NCAA with the transfer portal. Good news is there are plenty available players in the portal. Bad news is I don’t have much confidence that Tinkle will be able to take advantage of the portal in a positive way — especially coming off the historically bad season. He better get some assistants hired to help with recruiting.

Its big step back in the culture they're hopefully trying to change. This was also a player who managed to be ready to play every game and was one of our only long range shooters. He and Silva were the ones who tried to get players on the same page, calling that team meeting. But w/ no support from the coaches, none of the trouble makers bothered to listen. I really hate to seem him go. And the fact he wants to at this point tells us he doesn't believe the "issues" are going to change enough to stay. Not that I blame him for having that concern.

I sure hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see how a player like Taylor stays around this mess.

Too bad Canzano isn’t around anymore. He’d have the whole scoop on what went down.

In all seriousness Tinkle has a contract in which he is due millions but can't he see the problem he created and simply take a buyout and walk away. This last year was really bad this next year will simply be God awful.

I sure hope I’m wrong, but I don’t see how a player like Taylor stays around this mess. Well if he feels the guys that leave were part of the issue, he might stick around to be “the guy.” It’s not like there will be much competition for that roll. If he likes going to school at OSU, give it another year to see what happens. Worse case he improves his numbers and can have his choice of schools with still two years of eligibility. Not saying he’ll stay, but I could see the appeal. Can Tinkle sell him on it?

And one of the top 12 most athletic players on the roster turning pro (thought there was a chance he was going to petition for extra year - could be mistaken)

This last year was really bad this next year will simply be God awful. In all seriousness, when was the last time you left millions of dollars on the table? Not to mention, you don’t get to be a P5 head coach without a healthy ego. I’m sure he thinks he can get things back on track. And he better because he has to sell some kind of vision in order to hire two new assistants and recruit players to make a full roster. I get from a fan perspective it would be nice for WT to leave of his own volition. But I wouldn’t count on it. Nor would I likely if I were him.

With Lucas and hunt gone Taylor and Johnson are the only players recruited out of high school still on the roster (of course not including any incoming recruits). That my friends shows how incredibly inept tinkle is at recruiting.
