IF I am opponent, I sit my all-everything lefty pitcher and stick my so-so righty out there to face the Beavers

More damage done with a Bazzana 2 RBI double. 8-3 final for a Beav win.

When can we get that retractable roof? Cold hitting day for our big bats.

Glad to see Verburg and Carpenter give up 0 runs. The ground out in the 7th was charged to Brown. Also enjoyed the dagger in the 8th by Bazzana. It could have been an, oh no, here we go again. But no, not today and hopefully not ever.

Loved watching Hunter put in an economical and commanding performance. Hope he keeps developing.

Melton is in slump or perhaps just coming down from the Stars. I still think something is wrong with Forrester. He is routinely late and not often making good contact. Now he is even striking out. Slump or something has changed. Our SS has become almost an auto out. Would like to see if we have anyone that could step in and get a few hits.

I gotta agree on Forrester....said that in the ASU series but got lambasted for it since he got a couple of hits that game. He is good at getting walks but it’s almost as if that’s what he’s hoping for instead of looking to hit the ball. We need him to get back to old self

Actually I’d like to see the more aggressive Beavs of early in year swinging that bat and not taking so many strikes…. Getting behind in counts again….

Pitchers looked like they were going after Dernedde. And he wasn’t challenging them.
Forrester is still trying to get his swing back after the injury in the fall. How long can we wait? I think he still presents a formidable foe for opposing pitchers, so I’m not worried yet.
And I don’t want to read too much into a midweek game. We won. That’s enough.

Loved watching Hunter put in an economical and commanding performance. Hope he keeps developing. Looks to me like the best Sunday option while pfennigs is out. He got lambasted against GCU but other than that game he has been really solid and efficient. He can do decent outings of 50+ tosses and is an accurate contact pitcher. He will get hosed by frame at hitters but the only other options I see that can do 3+ innings are Ferrer and Townsend. Ferrer average outing is 1.9 innings and is a great strike out pitcher. Townsend has been rough so far this year. I wouldn’t mind seeing Hunter in the #3 until pfennigs gets back and then he could be a really solid midweek starter. I’d like to see Ferrer or Lattery get a s%#t at closer and put Verberg back in mid relief.
