Looks like most of NM's offense funnels through the Duff sisters (04/05). Based on box scores from the last few games, they like the three (not something we've defended well against).

The NIT is also giving us non Pac-12 refs so we get a fair shot. Just seems to me the last two games we have played so much better without the strange calls stalling the offense or getting players in early foul trouble

The first two games the Beav's played have been against defensive team. UNM is a much more offensive oriented team so it will be interesting to see how the Beav's react to put the defensive claps on them.
Sixth in the country in effective shooting % i.e. they are good at the 2 and the 3. 22nd in assists/TO's so they are also good at passing.

vs New Mexico, we'll need to control tempo, pound em inside, and control the boards. Our tall perimeter defenders (AJ, Taya, Emily, Ellie) were very successful in 2nd half of the UP game. New Mexico guards look to be 3-point snipers, but if we throw length at them on the perimeter, they probably are not familiar with 6'0 plus perimeter defenders.
I like the match up for us, especially after our last game with UP.

We looked crisp and effective in the first half yesterday. Good passing and only 5 to’s. Then kind of fell apart in the 3rd for a bit before regrouping for the 4th. If we play a full game like the first half we are a good team and should be ok. Limit to’s and push it down to Jelena and Kennedy. Let go Beavs!!

There's no such thing as "Pac-12 refs" in basketball. Sorry Refs assigned by the Pac-12 The ref who blew the call on Taya’s clean block made a few other really bad calls. He was about as bad as the poorer PAC-12 ref’s. I can’t imagine that the NIT gets the cream of the crop when the NCAA tournaments are going on in parallel. |

I saw Taya give him the "WTF" nod multiple times. |
