Wow, so who are the 5 position players that will be drafted in the first 10 rounds of the draft like from the 2018 team? They look good so far, but not at that level. There could absolutely be 5 guys in that draft realm within the next year or two.....and I'm talking about offense only. Grenier is a wizard at SS, but he was never a great hitter.....and I love Jack Anderson, but he did not play for his batting prowess. Bazzana, Meckler, Melton, Forrester, Boyd, Wheeler, Gretler.....these guys are gonna put up numbers.

Wow, so who are the 5 position players that will be drafted in the first 10 rounds of the draft like from the 2018 team? They look good so far, but not at that level. If I recall correctly, those players benefited from having a wildly successful 2017 season, too. I know that you know that sort of comparison is absurd…which is probably your point. I agree with it, too. The 2018 year isn’t some magic formula for teams to be compared to. 2017 and 2018 were both magical years. And the team came together in a very special way. You can look at all the stats on the page and never really pinpoint what made that team special. This year’s team looks good…very good. And it has a lot of potential. I want to see how it reacts to adversity because that’s the true test. 2017 and 2018 fought until the last out was made. They got hits with 2 strikes against them. Scored with 2 outs against them. Won games late in the 9th. If the 2022 Beavers show me that, then we’re talking a great team.

Yea no s%#t Sherlock.....my original point was this team, TOP TO BOTTOM, may have more potential offensively, than we have ever seen.

I said they have the potential to be. I understand that it's only one weekend. I understand the pitching gets better in conference. I actually know a bit about baseball.

This team is the greatest team of all time after playing 4 games against teams that would finish in the lower half of the conference. Better? The world needs ditch diggers too.

So not crowning the team 1 weekend into the season is now s%#tting on them? Maybe, some people just have the reading comprehension of 3rd graders. I like this team. They just haven’t accomplished much yet and trying to compare them to the greatest hitting team in OSU history at this point in the season is absurd.

I said they have the potential to be. I understand that it's only one weekend. I understand the pitching gets better in conference. I actually know a bit about baseball. Calm down there, cowboy. No one said absurd. Take a deep breath. There are basically two kinds of fans here: those who see the potential in this team and see greatness may lie around the corner, and those who know that there’s a lot of baseball left. Neither of these views is wrong. We’ve had a dynamic start to the year and we’ve shown great improvement in what we thought were the weaknesses of a good 2021 team. There is good cause to be excited. Smails and Co. are not wrong that there will be tests ahead. But they most certainly are party poopers for trying to subdue the excitement. Why rain on the parade, if not to smugly say “I told you so” later? I have a neighbor like that. Predicts the worst about the Seahawks. Still can’t figure out why I don’t want to watch the games with him. Can’t read the air, as they say in Japanese. KY.
