Some of you people are a piece of work.
At the beginning of the season you talked up the OSU women. They haven't played up to your expectations, so you're embarrassed. Boo hoo.
The team will be fine.
Kennedy is working back, getting stronger and more assertive. Jelena is learning how to play the post.
Add to that, we lost one hell of a leader [Aleah]. We have three freshwomen in the backcourt. And, yes, TVO is a freshwomen learning the game. TJ is out.
This is a learning/developmental year. These women will be good!
Gardner, Beers, Blacklock, Hansford will joining TVO, AM, GK, Jelena, TJ, and KB.
Get a grip people.

From the WBB guru. We all need to please stop. "Grip" fantasy not the actual happenings.
Never mind that the actual real current team isn't playing well. And, I'm pretty sure that fact doesn't preclude realizing next season could indeed be better/exciting. But, we all should focus on the fantasy prediction on what they "will be" vs the current state of the team's play.
The astute observation that "they're learning the game". Jeez, we're all so stupid. No one else had the inside knowledge that players are in a constant learning mode! But, so are all teams. OSU must have more to "learn".
Speaking of "learning", the coaches don't know much either. OSU was picked in top half of the league, #4 by most every predictor. In a couple weeks they could be 4-8 (I'll guess 5-7) and a bottom half team. So yeah, not good.
So, all of us "Louise's" should focus on not commenting and critiquing the actual 2021-22 team. Basically we all should just ignore the current play and results. Instead focus on the fantasy version of '22-23 because:
-the new recruits will be D1 ready, won't have a learning curve, like the current players; - that new (and more of them) "younger" will be automatically more mature and play as such; - no key player(s) will leave via the portal: - no injuries will occur and Taylor fully recovers/returns; - and, we might as well add in that Furd, Zona, UCLA, etc will fall back while OSU excels.
Damn. We/me should all feel so bad!
PS- did anyone else read a "fire SR" post? Hmmmm. Another prediction about the future perhaps??

Actually, not necessarily true. Although the one quote with a period following should. Thx for the advice.

There are a few on this board that tend to go a little too far to the 'high' side when the Beavs win, and too far to the low side when they lose. Adam and Eve probably thought the world was dying as their first summer turned to winter and the days started getting shorter, flowers lost their bloom, leaves fell from trees, and it got cold outside, but they were wrong. Don't worry, this 'nightmare' will come to an end, and next season looks much brighter. Saying that, it will be fun keeping an eye on the transfer portal this year, as adding a talented guard/wing could make a real difference.

Does this advice apply to Coach Tinkle and the mens basketball team. If so I am all in with keeping coach Tinkle.

Ok I get it its taboo to criticize the team or the coach because next year will be better. But its not trending that way. The teams pac12 record since 2016-17 is 16-2, 14-4, 14-4, 10-8, 7-6, 4-4. A fan shouldn't be concerned about that? I dare say every year we have had a bright shining star or more to look at to right the ship. Maybe this next year is the year. Maybe.

Does this advice apply to Coach Tinkle and the mens basketball team. If so I am all in with keeping coach Tinkle. Actually, that is a good answer. SR has been the most successful Oregon State wbb coach ever. After building the program the team has made 7? straight NCAA tournaments. This year looks to be a dip in the program. Even if you want to add last season, which many would argue against, you could call it a two year dip. But the evidence points to the program getting back on track as the next several years look good. Tinkle, on the other hand, has had several years that certainly wouldn't be classified as great, or even good in most eyes, and then had one up year, before sliding back to 'not good', and the future looks ? (I don't follow the men's team as closely as I once did). Should we have believed the men's team had 'arrived' based on a late season run last year? Should we believe the women's team is on an extended down turn based on a year or two of not being in contention for the Pac12 championship title? History and past performance does not always tells us what future results will be, but it certainly gives us some strong indications.

Ok, watching replay, didn't see it last night. 2nd qtr, ugly and we look lost. Is there any point in watching the rest?

These are absolutely great points. The real question is whether or not you believe this is the bottom of the curve or whether the program is poised to head back up. If injuries persist, if players continue to transfer out, then the program could continue to go the wrong direction. Normally you would expect a young team (four players considered freshman contributing with Kennedy and Taylor as sophomores) to become a much better team as they move toward upperclassmen. Add in 2 of the top 10 High School players in the country coming in a you have what should be much improvement in the program over the next several years. If the Beavs can add a quality transfer next season, or if Adlee or Lily are early contributors, then the trajectory of the jump from this year to next should make OSU fans happy. Until these past two games, this team had not even had a double digit loss and that includes games against ranked teams Arizona, Notre Dame, and Michigan. Close games this year will likely be wins next season as youth develops, but yes, it could go the other direction. I tend to believe youth will improve, the team will stick together, and injuries will play less of a role as the team gets deeper, but we won't know until the time comes.
