I watched Oregon against WSU and they have 3 starters who bring the ball up at various times and have PG skills and can initiate the offense, Rogers, Pao Pao and Scheer. Often which ever one gets the ball first or is available for the outlet pass pushes the ball up the court. It used to be that just about every team had a designated PG, now with players becoming more multi skilled often multiple players often have the handles to initiate the offense. It seems that some coaches/programs have more position flexibility than others. When Rogers announced she was going to transfer to Oregon she was asked how she would co-exist with Pao Pao and said the plan was for them to play together. Obviously, size is still needed defensively and for rebounding but imo the more players you have on the floor who have plus ball handling and shooting skills the better. Paopao was recruited as the PG and has been the starter ever since (when she is healthy). Rogers was the starting PG on another Pac-12 team who transferred in. Not really the norm for teams anywhere. When Paopao was injured last season Graves complained about how he didn't have anyone who could play the point (kind of a nasty shot at Chavez since she'd be a backup PG for a couple of years). Scheer became the default PG as someone had to do the job last year. Everyone is a PG consists of three players at UofO and is a really abnormal situation. Have you seen what Chavez has done this year transferring to Arizona. She barely plays.
And they are adding another PG next year. Chance Gray, the nation’s No. 7 overall prospect who is the second highest-rated pledge in their program history behind Queen Ionescu

Go through the TOP 15 ranked teams and you will find many teams with guards that can handle the ball: Iowa State, Stanford, Arizona, Louisville, LSU, I could go on....

Different note, but the tale of two who transferred out from the ducks. Chavez thought Arizona would be a good fit, but she's not seeing much action. Jaz Shelley went to Nebraska and is recording the most mpg on the team and is second in scoring. She's having a nice season.

You mean that Stanford that everyone keeps talking about how their only real weakness is a lack of a PG to take over for Kiana and how their losses were a direct result of that? The Louisville where the PG and the SG had to switch because HVL was turning over the ball too much? The Arizona team that really tried to convince Rogers to come to Tucson because they had no replacement for Ari? Iowa State? Really? All three of their losses have been because Emily had a bad game and there is no one else to take up her slack. You got me on LSU. I know nothing of them.
