I'm excited for the season and I think our offense this season will be much more consistent and potent. We all know our starting pitching will be top notch. The bullpen is what concerns me the most. We lost a ton of valuable innings from last years bullpen. Mully, Salgado, Watkins, Washburn, Burns and Frisch threw a lot of very valuable innings for us last season and were part of a group of really 9 guys that gave us meaningful bullpen innings. The 3 holdovers Verburg, Mundt and Townsend should be solid choices for us out of pen but alot of very important innings will have to be thrown by unproven guys. Hope they can step up

Frisch is back. Not sure if you mean he'll be missing from the bullpen because he will be a starter instead.

Do not be surprised if Boisvert gets a shot at DH. Serious power. McDowell need to find himself at the plate, great defender.
Bazanna- 2nd Melton-1B Forrester- DH Meckler-CF Boyd-RF Dukart-SS Dernedde— LF Logan- C Gretler-3B
Hjerpe - toes the rubber.

I think Dernedde struggled mightily at the plate in summer ball, and fall.

Trying to create some R/L changes in the lineup. Plus I think Forrester will lead the team in OPS. Keep his bat right behind Melton to keep Jacob protected. Modern baseball cares less about traditional batting roles.

Melton really needs to be cleanup…. With current roster. But that’s old school.

Melton will likely hit 3 and maybe 2 when circumstances could dictate that.
From practice reports, we won't see Boisvert right away but he is a pitcher. 97 on the Stalker is more attractive than a 97 exit velo on Trackman.
Many options available to maneuver with this team - offensively and defensively.

A bit off topic but noting the schedule the first 7 Games will be on some paid streaming service. Then back to Corvallis is is showing on Live Stats only. Is that correct?

Every year Surprise games on FloTV....it's a little spendy in total but not bad when you divide it by 7 and it's pretty good video and commentary in my opinion

Bazzana Meckler Melton Forrester Wheeler if Lefty, Fuchs if Righty logan Boyd Dukart Gretler Hjerpe With Fuchs, the Beavs present 6 left handed hitters in the order. I'm curious why Wheeler would go against a Lefty... Both he and Fuchs hit on the left side of the plate. From Kerry's article. Then there is 5-10, 215-pound TJ Wheeler, a left-handed bat who hit .399 with 21 homers and 62 RBIs in 54 games with Yavapai (Ariz.) JC last season. He is also listed as a left handed hitter on the Roster. Just an oversite or do you know something contrary to the info on Wheeler?

Assumption at this point - with what we know. The coaches will be looking for "Pop" in the DH hole. That would present a HR threat in at least 8 spots in the batting order. Let's assume Fuchs who has known HR power, and unleashed that this fall and in recent scrimmages, and Wheeler who blasted 21 HR's last year at Yavapai are our two best candidates to fill the DH role with some loud at bats. Unless we remove a position player to fill the DH slot, our best RH hitter option with even a modicum of Pop would be Paul Myro or one of the freshman with some punch, Guerra, Smith or Weber.
By the book you wouldn't normally hit Wheeler against LH pitching. But I might consider going against the book when I know Wheeler hit a career.345 in 2 1/2 seasons (136-395 at bats) at Sacramento CC and Yavapai CC against some pretty fair JC pitchers. Importantly, his is BA against leftys was .327
I made the assumption that Wheeler might be better suited to face LHP than Fuchs. I could be wrong on that. I gave Greg the slight not against RHP because he has experience of facing D-1 pitching and TJ does not.
