File under YouTube clips I don’t need to click on. 😁 You really should. It’s a classic that nobody is above appreciating I’ve been to the San Diego Zoo and seen the warning signs around the hippo exhibit. It’s a natural thing so it’s not shocking or disgusting to me. But by the same token it’s not interesting or intriguing either (To me at least. Your mileage may vary). Hippos doin' hippo things. And this thread is getting WAY off-topic.

Every coach in PAC-12 is going to build their defensive game plan around stopping TvO. Hope our coaches are game planning the opposition coaches' game plan. If you are just relying on one player to do everything you are basically just farting into the wind. Tell that to the USC men's team of Thursday night Feb 22, 1990. I have a feeling they must have smelled a lot of Gary Payton fart blowing around Gill.

Talia is still a freshman, even if you took total games, she would be nearing the end of her freshman season. She's going to make mistakes down the stretch. Unfortunately for her, unlike many young PG's of the past, she doesn't have a Jamie, or a Marie, or someone else who is currently carrying the load. The games where Taya, Ellie, etc have stepped up make a world of difference, but it would really benefit Talia if one of the guards were hitting shots or doing a better job of sharing the load. Tea has helped. That said, go back and watch the 4th Quarter of the USC game, or the 4th Quarter of the UCLA game and tell me Talia is not going to be a star. I wouldn't hear you. You can watch either of those quarters and know why Talia won so many one-on-one tournaments, and in the UCLA game in particular, you can see why SR was amazed at her passing ability from the onset of her recruitment. The future is bright.....alluding to another thread, that is the State of the Program. The future is bright. In the USC game, Talia scored 17 of the 19 4th quarter points. The other two points were scored on an assist from Talia. In the UCLA game, Talia scored 10 4th quarter points (plus had the last 3 OSU points from the 3rd quarter), she assisted on 11 other points, and gave the direct feed to Taya who was fouled and hit the free throws for 2 other points. Talia led directly to every 4th quarter OSU point made until there were less than 2 minutes to go in the quarter. Quite the weekend for her.

This was pretty much how it went with Aleah last year when the offense was really humming.

I'm just trying to get this thread to page 4 so I won't have to look at the splatter sign anymore.

Brink isn’t supposed to be Talias competition for player of the week!, Brink is a sophomore. This is my beef. Talia has been a freshman all season but for the sake of her being a senior last year and pac 12 ignores she is a freshman so far this season. Like I said earlier Curry got 5 times freshmen of the week awards. There were several times Talia played well enough to qualify for freshman award. If scoring in the 20’s is good enough? Right? Well she just beat a FUCLA Team by carrying her team. And USC! No freshman has done that! Has any scored 30 points…..we are talking railroad here! Talia probably isn’t a self serving person I agree but how often does a player in preseason get most if not all the acolaids of her freshman class in a twelve team league such as ours? That’s a little bit strange to me. Maybe better said OVER KILL or undo emphasis. My guess is Talia maybe just in passing wondered about that? I’m 67 and noticed such things?

No, because at the start of the year they said no early enrollee's where eligible for any of the Freshman awards in the Pac-12. Talia sacrificed by joining the Beavs last year. She lost out on a McDonalds All-American recognition. She lost out on the ability to be a freshman of the week this year. However, I'm glad Talia joined the team last year and I hope she is too.

So that rule applies to only senior high school transferees. I’m going to see if the early transfer from Norte dame, forget her name, has had to not get recognized this year. So how consistent rules like this are really enforced. She was the top performer on her team this last week. Like Talia. I’m glad Talia understood this. Thanks for that info.

PLEASE NOTE: Talia and Olivia miles as seniors in high school last year made the biggest splashes for their college teams, as true seniors from high school early enrollees. Now this year as true freshman. As Norte dame puts it, Olivia miles first full year as a true freshman, cough. She at Norte dame has won the weekly freshman of the week award 5 times now and oh, by the way, has received it this week again, as a result of a 30 point performance! Congratulation Talia, I mean oliva, since some people, some where, actually agknowledge your performances!
SIDE NOTE: where does the new rule on NIL in college sports fit in here. It appears only in the pac 12 performance can’t be rightly rewarded!
