I personally think what Talia did should be recognized either as a sophomore which she isn’t or as a true freshman which she is. But the pac 12 commission for promoting Stanford and Oregon can’t bare to admit a 31 point game is outstanding. Worth recognition. I think the only other person in pac 12 to do that this year was stanfords Hull who scored 33 in one game. Talia is being messed with. She is a true freshman and pac 12 will not recognize this!

The pac 12 truly is bias in favor a certain people. Curry a true freshman like Talia was given the freshman of a week 5 times in preseason. As if she’s the only freshman in this league! Point two Brink has had it now 3 times. Hum seems like there’s just not enough great performances in the pac 12. B stinking S. No one cares to spread the love!

Talia is still a freshman, even if you took total games, she would be nearing the end of her freshman season. She's going to make mistakes down the stretch. Unfortunately for her, unlike many young PG's of the past, she doesn't have a Jamie, or a Marie, or someone else who is currently carrying the load. The games where Taya, Ellie, etc have stepped up make a world of difference, but it would really benefit Talia if one of the guards were hitting shots or doing a better job of sharing the load. Tea has helped.
That said, go back and watch the 4th Quarter of the USC game, or the 4th Quarter of the UCLA game and tell me Talia is not going to be a star. I wouldn't hear you. You can watch either of those quarters and know why Talia won so many one-on-one tournaments, and in the UCLA game in particular, you can see why SR was amazed at her passing ability from the onset of her recruitment. The future is bright.....alluding to another thread, that is the State of the Program. The future is bright.

OSU played 3 games last week and went 2-1. Talia's work week started slow and finished fast with one poor game (4-14 from the field) and 2 good ones. Still the award is for the week's work and while it may seem unfair to judge her 3 games against other players' 2 games, this is not figure skating or diving where high and low scores are thrown out.

Also , if you asked Talia, I am pretty sure she would say that what is most important to her is ‘winning’ ! You can tell by when she turns the heat up. She starts out as, more or less, a facilitator with a few key shots - then, when required she kicks things into an entirely different gear ! Hope she can maintain this type of split going forward , but, it will be tougher as teams will increase their focus on her. But, that is the strategic and tactical beauty of basketball. If you can draw your opponents defenders ( 2-3 ), there are Beavers open to drive to the hoop or to step out for a ‘three’ ! Go Beavers

Every coach in PAC-12 is going to build their defensive game plan around stopping TvO. Hope our coaches are game planning the opposition coaches' game plan.

Since TJ has been out, I'm pretty certain she's been number one on the scouting report already. Even with TJ, she's by far the most dangerous scorer on the team.

I agree with the focus , but I also think that we are more capable of some back door stuff and spreading the floor for better shooting opportunities for the other women on the floor . We are not particularly speedy ( OSU ), when Jelena and Mannen are on the floor - so the foul situation has to be top of mind . Both AJ and Greta have enough speed and length to get up and down the floor on both offense and defense - which I love , but, the way we are defended may require two half court passes to get to the hoop. We are also going to have to be less sloppy on inbounding the ball and when looking to pass around the top of the key. Kennedy has a pretty effective shot around the free throw line ! Looking forward to more progress in this upcoming game ! Go Beavers !
