Only TWO (2) LHP listed on roster, including the Beavs likely #1 starter (Hjerpe). Odd that Sophomore LHP Justin Thorsteinson is listed as "UT"
David Case, the other LHP, is an incoming freshman who played 2021 summer ball along side of Gavin Logan and Greg Fuchs. He showed promise in Summer 2021 as (essentially) a high schooler facing college bats. But...that's a wild-card.
So, other than Hjerpe, the sum total of the experience of the LHP on the staff, at the D-1 level, is 2/3 of an inning (by Thorsteinson, 2021).
Not having an established left hander available in the bullpen is pretty unconventional (or maybe nutty?), and possibly a medium, to huge, problem.

Tyree Reed is one of the 43 listed. Others have posted here that he will redshirt in 2022 (knee brace in evidence during fall ball)

Thorsteinson hit pretty well this fall and I believe a bit this summer too...I heard he'll mostly pitch but get some chances to hit as well

Thorsteinson - a good player but still developing in some areas (my take)
A lack of LH Pitching only becomes a problem if your RH pitchers can't spin the baseball. The LHP v LH Hitter advantage is moot if you have a few RHP's that can throw cutters and jam on the inside margins of the zone, hard sliders with good vertical break at the hitters back foot, and change ups that sink and run armside (think Kevin Abel). Any one of those pitches with well located velo will do the trick. Hard stuff with vertical break on the inside, then elevate the fastball and change his eye level. You see it every day in MLB with the RHP v LHH matchups.
Canham and Dorman know this and probably aren't concerned with two portsiders. We have RH arms that can punch out the best of left handed hitters.

A preliminary peek at the roster indicates a reduction from 48 to 43 players following fall baseball. I might have missed someone but my count shows:
IF Reece McRae OF Van Larson C Daniel Pruitt P Kyle Keyes IF Devyn Lopez (SDSU transfer - did he ever arrive?)

The NCAA extended the roster limit from 35 to 40 in 2021, then extended it again at 40 for 2022. The Beavs will have to drop 3 to reach the 40 mark. It is scheduled to return to 35 in 2023, but that is under discussion and will be reviewed at the National Coaches Convention in '22. In a survey of Head Coaches conducted last fall, 54% favored the 35 limit and 46% wanted to expand to 40 or more, with 9% of the total wanting an unlimited roster.
Note: Tyree is a "counter".

I might have missed someone but my count shows: IF Reece McRae OF Van Larson C Daniel Pruitt P Kyle Keyes IF Devyn Lopez (SDSU transfer - did he ever arrive?) Pruitt: Google search shows a Dec. 7, 2021 tweet for @pruittdaniel02 - "I am excited and honored to announce that I will be furthering my academic and baseball career at the University of Northern Colorado..." But that tweet is not seen on his actual Tweeter profile. Nor is he listed on the No. Colo. roster. At any rate, with Gavin Logan returning and 2 highly regarded incoming freshmen at Catcher it's not surprising he's looking elsewhere. He didn't play at all his Freshman season at OSU (2021), nor did his HS team play baseball in his senior year at Valley Catholic (2020, COVID). Both Larson and Macrae were 2021 HS grads, but neither was listed in the press release on the recruiting class that included Bazzana, Case, Guerra, Kmatz, Reed, etc.

Devyn Lopez hit a HR in the Oct. 2021 OSU matchup in Medford v. USF. On the other hand he is already listed in the D-1 Baseball 2021-22 Transfer Tracker (as transferring from OSU - no destination listed). Wherever he lands it will be his 4th college team: SDSU - Riverside City College - OSU - ??

Ha-Ha-Ha.
Next year, Dude.
I'll build with Conforto and you'll be my first trade.
For a six-pack and a bag of chips.
