Tough loss to a gritty team. Competitive game between two pretty equal teams. Coulda, woulda, shoulda. Hand it to the Aggies. They took one to the nose on the opening drive and proceeded to dominate from there on out. I disagree. The opening drive showed the talent gap. The rest of the game showed the effort gap.

The rest of the game showed the effort gap. So what do you disagree about? The Aggies kicked our asses! Why didn't we have the effort? Why did we get outcoached? It's not like our program can take even a joke bowl for granted.....we should've come out wanting it as much as them. It's a bad look for our program. I don't think thats debatable.

I'm as big of a Smith guy as anyone. But that performance was hard to watch. It felt like we were never in the game once they took the lead. Our guys seemed to lose their s%#t, and give up. The effort was poor.

It always sucks for a P5 team to play a G5 team in a bowl. Damned if you do, damned if you don't, and the G5s are always up for these games.

The Aggies are simply better. Henninger, I’m sure never got a sniff from any of the PAC. Best player on the field. Congrats, Aggies. I just looked him up out of curiosity. He was originally at Utah, was buried on the depth chart, and transfered to USU in 2019. He's no slouch, but came into the game with five sacks all season, and never more than one in a game until tonight. The guy we made look like the best player on the field tonight found our allegedly elite OL easier to beat than any of the MWC lines he faced.

We just did not have a consistent response to their stunts and blitzes up front. Does not mean players didn't put effort in, does not mean our coaches are no good, does not mean our season was a disaster. We got beat. Guess what? The other team was trying to win to. It happens.

Too many of our fans blame all of our problems on Gary Andersen. Well Utah State has seemed to bounce back from Gary Andersen more quickly than we have. Andersen took over at USU with an 11-2 team. They had a base he didn’t have enough time to destroy. Wait... USU was in complete disarray. Players and coaches were disgruntled and after last season's 1-5 season it got worse. Players boycotted their last game, players were leaving left and right. This Anderson had to bring in 44 new players to start this, his first year.

If bending over backwards to spin something in a positive way is an Olympic sport, you get a gold medal.

Was busy today and didn’t watch live, don’t have the energy to go through the whole thread, but here’s my two cents
Defense was sound overall, a few individuals had real bad games.
Chance Nolan is not a QB that can win you games when the run game isn’t going.
Their D I believe was one of the best in the nation at TFLs. Give them credit for showing that wasn’t just a product of their schedule.
It was a disappointing end to the season, but I’m not all that upset by the loss. Utah St. played well. We didn’t have our best. Hats off to them, let’s go get it next year.

The sad thing is that you think Gebbia is better Dude, He is not better. Nolan is the man, will be next year whether you all like it or not. If all of the qb's in the room were healthy this year, Chance is third option..........And likely forth option in 2022. Go Beavs!!

I was surprised that OSU was the favorite, the result did not surprise me. Utah St had won 7 out of its last 8 including blowing out a ranked SDSU team. OSU had lost 4 out of the last 7. One thing they say about bowl games is that the team that wants to be there more usually wins. It was obvious which team that was.
Overall, this was a good season and a step in the right direction. The fact that we lost 5 out of the last 8 makes me realize that a winning season next year is far from a given. We need to improve in order to take another step forward.

Obviously people did not take this game serious. Terrible way to end your College football career. Being smoked by team that sure looked faster, more focused and determined to win. That game for us just totally sucked. Again, sucked!

Turn the page! Winning season, nuff said. Ready for the spring game and a fresh start. Good post.. could it have been better season? Sure... but despite what some posters want #firesmith.. he has things heading in the right direction Don't confuse 1 poster posting multiple times. No one in their right mind wants JS gone at this point.
