Did you actually read Elwood's post? Here is what he said: " Now that I look at it, it is an improvement but I think something I was hoping for was the intimidation factor. While the new side looks great and will hold in the noise, it doesn’t quite have that intimidation factor." He was talking about intimidation factor apart from noise--the visual aspect of the new side--and so was I. I've been going games going back to when the stadium held 28,000 first time around, last year included. People are intimidated by the look of a stadium? Noise is the only thing that matters. You’ve never been “awed” or “wowed” by a building or structure? There is more than just noise that adds to the experience. In many cases size matters. The size of the stadium and video board can be intimidating and sends a visual message. I think it also reflects the “front door” aspects of the University, Athletic Department and football program. Reser is what most people will see on television. I hope it will translate well on TV, we’ll have to see. At least they won’t have to avoid showing the old West side.

The only awe I ever experienced in a stadium was how high it felt at the Fiesta bowl watching the beavs kick the domers butts. Felt like if you tripped walking you would tumble for 5 minutes.

I flew over Corvallis today and captured this view of Reser..... Not a great photo (I was solo, so I spent all of 3 seconds fiddling with my phone), but perhaps a different perspective for folks until someone flies a drone over it. Enjoy! Go Beavers! Great pic! You even got the new track. Is it just me or did they remove a bunch of big trees next to the highway? I was hoping those trees would add to the ambiance of the track. Reser Stadium looks good too

No. I was in Tiger stadium when osu played in front of 95,000 people and wasn’t intimidated at all. It’s just a structure, and 95k was awfully quiet for most of the game.

Brave no. Not even close. The field is still 52x100 yards. Play well and take any crowd out of the game. Anybody think having the winds filled in would make it more intimidating??? SMH

Well, it is what it is...we will soon have our completed Reser. I will wait until it's completed, I see a few nits I wanna pick. Would have been nice to raise another $25 or $30 million before starting construction. In the long run, I will take what we get, as I wasn't sure I would see it finished on the West side. Go Beavs !

By the time we raised 25-30 million more, how much would construction costs have escalated? I’m sure osu would have loved to have added the wings in the upper deck, but maybe the 93.5 million raised was the ceiling.

It's neat when they are empty. I think nearly every soccer stadium in Europe does that. All the way down to 17th tier where 50 year old guys are trotting around with a beer in their hand.

Very beautiful. So happy we finally almost finished the West side. A friend was in there today and says they have a lot of stuff to do yet under the West side

Doesn't seem like that many years ago. OSU has come a long way.
