webcam.oregonstate.edu/reserwebcam.oregonstate.edu/reser2We should have a thread dealing specifically with the construction project. Drove past today. Some of the parking lot directly behind the press box is now blocked off, looks like for a staging area. They were removing items from the maintenance building on ground level. There are some utility-related markings on the pavement. There were a lot of people around, even though not much was happening. The Reser webcam is still situated on top of the press box. I expect it will be relocated to the east grandstand at some point.

Don’t forget the proximity to the Vet School. They were the ones who put the kibosh on loud post-TD fireworks 10+ years ago.

Implosion scheduled for Jan 6. I really doubt it'll require explosives to take down this structure. I certainly could be wrong but that sounds like overkill. I think they should be able to safely compromise the structure's integrity and trigger a progressive collapse, letting gravity do the work, without needing to "explode" anything. If we have any (professional) demo contractors on the board, I'd love to hear your assessments. chainsaws oughta do it

I say keep that webcam in place, so we can get a live shot during the fall down.

I doubt if it will be anything too dramatic. The press box will probably just slowly fold over and fall into the stands. But you never know. I can't remember how the stands are constructed. If they are precast planks I would remove them whole and take them to a staging area for demo to save time on the schedule. But there's more than one way to skin a cat.

I think they should be able to safely compromise the structure's integrity and mechanically trigger a progressive collapse, letting gravity do the work, without needing to "explode" anything. As long as they don't hire the same guys from the state Highway Division that dynamited the whale near Florence in 1970 we should be good.

Really excited to see the completion of this project. With the upgraded sections, osu will make more money on a downsized stadium than a full current stadium. I know we had a waiting list for the seats directly under the East side roof where you purchase 4 in a block. The sale of those seats on the West side will garner 1.2 million dollars according to an athletic department employee I spoke to.

Before I croak, I’d love to see the CORNERS filled in, with more seats for butts. That BOWL FEEL is awesome.
