I'm not a tech geek but it seems this schedule is damn tight, too tight. Kickoff in 6 days hope it gets done.

It is a tight schedule, and I get that there are gong to be issues, between supply chain, labor - whatever. It's not like unboxing a tv from a box store and hanging it up on the wall. I like that they are close. What I don't like is that they have repeatedly said "done by..." and blown by their announced completion dates. So shut up already, and just tell us when it's DONE.
I can only imagine that right now there is a lot of finger pointing about the blown completion times - only because they made them VERY public - and this often will trickle down in terms of unwanted and undesired pressure on the folks actually doing the work, which can lead to haste where haste should not be. That guy in the upper left of the image - I'm sure he didn't tell Nick Daschel that it would be "completed" by the 20th...or, last week, that it would be "done" by Sunday - but I'll bet some suit is yelling at him to hurry up.
Of course, I hope that is not the case. I will be happy when it's done, and that they don't have to reset the safety sign to "0 Days" because of some bullshine to keep to some beancounter's schedule.

If they don't get those final 5 modules up by Tuesday, they'll never get it all painted by Saturday.

On Friday morning, OLive's Nick Daschel gave us the news: "I’m told the new video board will be finished by Sunday, with test runs taking place during the week." As of around 1:15 today (Monday the 29th), my direct observations would suggest that someone needs to tell Nick that he might need to double-check his sources. But, then I re-read his post, and I realized: His source did not specify which Sunday...

But, then I re-read his post, and I realized: His source did not specify which Sunday...If that is the case, than that would mean the original statement that the scoreboard would be completed after the Boise state game, True. Which IF it comes true… would be very very unfortunate since the opening game will be broadcasted on ESPN Live and will make Reser look poorly run and poorly prepared for a big season opening game. The public will genuinely roast the hell outta the beavs AD on social media everywhere, for months when espn announces on tv saying “The Reser stadiums scoreboard is still not operational, so we haft to manually keep track of score and stats on paper here in this lil shed on the west side”

It's too late to go back to original timelines to be in the "true" column. Someone is surely regretting putting this "out there": And, yes, this whole thing is unfortunate - to say the least.

"Scott Barnes said the new $5 million video board should be completed Tuesday or Wednesday."
Well, that is much more reasonable than the previous "will be" - someone's been taking notes!
Good Great news on the ticket numbers. What with school being still a few clicks out, I wonder if there will be a little extra ticket windfall from the unclaimed student tix?

Just read Oregonlive about new west side. Only 8904 seats on the west side? With current seats of 26,400 plus 8904 for total of about 35,300 seats capacity. I thought it’s around 37,000 for a long time, maybe it’s included standing?

Smaller brings in better opponents. Smaller brings in more money. Smaller helps our application into the mountain west. Smaller is for people who don’t need bigger. Smaller is the trend. Any questions? Oh and even big programs are going small. I hear Michigan went from 102,734 to 101,533.

Longer the video board gets pushed out, the less ads will be on the screen for Boise. Win/Win/Win.

I'm down at Reser checking it out. I had it in my head the panels are larger than they are. Still a bunch of panels to go, now I see why it's taking some time.
From that oregonlive link a couple posts above, that small black rectange hanging from the crane is a panel. They're about a quarter to one sixth of the size I was expecting. Looks like about 25 panels to go....
.... Actually now that I'm watching it I'm kinda surprised at how fast it's going... I saw them drop one in place about 8-10 minutes ago then they just picked up 2 panels at one time, one hanging about 20 feet (by my guess) below the other and they're locking in the lowest one right now. They could finish today at this rate.
