First, the usual caveats: I'm not on the construction crew and there is probably inside information to which none of us are privy. That said, we learned from Nick Daschel today, I’m told the new video board will be finished by Sunday, with test runs taking place during the week.Worth reminding ourselves, on August 9, OSUBeavers.com trumpeted the news that the board would be completed by the 20th - six days ago. All that said, just returned from the terrace, and it appears to the naked eye that they have put up 1/2 of what remained of the panels as of 48 hours ago. So, simple math suggest that in 48 hours, assuming they maintain the same pace, all the panels would - likely - be in place in another 48 hours, which is Sunday by about 3pm (though I'll give them all the way to midnight, even!). There is still electrical and interconnections etc. to do, but that's happening concurrently, according to the (100% accurate) news release of Aug. 9. I'm in no position to say it won't be done, and I want it done in time for kick off on the 3rd. I can only observe the accuracy of official predictions, and I'll bet Nick's assessment is from "official" sources. I will say, as a consumer and as one who's been involved in a few large projects of the years, the word done means done - not just panels in place, not still-to-be-tested...but done. Working. Ready to use. Will they meet the mark of done? Or will it just no longer be a skeleton? Who knows? But they are getting closer by the day...

The turf looks pretty healthy from the grow lights, too...

As of 10 am Sunday morning there are a couple/few panels up on the top row if the scoreboard. Do they finish all of them today? We'll see.

Betting on what day the panels will be entirely in place probably could have been it's own pretty decent thread if put up about a month ago.

Wonder if they’ll finish the 4th deck framing this week. Thought they were gunna have that done two weeks ago.

Someone please do a drive by and let us know if all the video board panels are up. I played Tecmo bowl on it today. Bo Jackson scored every time, so I think it works fine.

Yeah - that kind of gives you a sense of scale for those panels, eh?
Based on my carefully calibrated eyeball estimation earlier this week, that to me looks like a panel left to go on the left half of the top row; then it's done!
After the other half of the top row, then just the electrical, interconnections, networking, testing, and calibration...
Since Sunday goes all the way to midnight, I'm not saying it's not going to be done today. (Well just wait until tomorrow's previously promised media event to see the results of what I am sure will be intensive overnight work.)
