That's crazy. Probably figures it's easier to win in the Pac 12 than in the SEC.

I'm sure there will be a trickle-down impact on us, but methinks oregon's recruiting success in SoCal will be harmed greatly by this hire.

If a done deal I'm with him... OK in the SEC will typically be 2-3 loss team in secondary bowls. USC and Pac12 offers him an opportunity to build a Pac12 power and maybe soon be in the CFP picture, especially in the expanded version. Plus, he has recruiting chops and can make big inroads to Cali kids. Bad news for OSU fans. SC with a talented recruiter and coach is not good!

Great offensive mind, but his defenses have been suspect.

I like it. As USC goes so goes the Pac-12.
USC is also my 2nd favorite team (LA family) so there's that.
Here's to a dominant USC losing to us in the Pac-12 title game and sending us to the Rose Bowl!

Very seldom do we go "head to head" with u$c for recruits. DO we? The POSITIVE impact of allowing only 85 scholarships STILL limits programs like $c from a "players monopoly," and benefits programs like ours. Will they be better coached? Probably, at least on the offensive side of the ball, but even when they aren't well-coached, they still garner their share of talent. South central L.A. "ain't" everybody's cup o' tea. Neither is Corvallis, I know, but I trust coach Smith to use HIS personal life experience to alleviate some fears "big city, bright lights" kids may have of "Mayberry."

Funny how Oklahoma fans are all butt hurt that Lincoln Riley went about leaving in all the wrong ways, forgetting how their University completely boned the big 12 last summer with blindside leaving to SEC. Karma, and possibly being the big fish in the Pac-12 is a lot more desirable then being one of 6 or 7 medium fish in the SEC pond.
