Our attendance usually increases with conference play. That's true, but last year, in the 3 non-conference home games without kids, we averaged 4,100. There were 7 conference games at home, and we averaged 4,587 for them. Contrast those (and this year's) numbers to 2019-20, when we averaged 5,902 for the season. The numbers aren't trending well.

Our numbers were definitely higher before COVID. I have our Civil War from 2019 DVR'd and watch it from time to time. I think being ranked helped and, much as I hate to admit it, SI increased interest in the womens' games.

I believe it’s because we’re not the program we were before. People like watching a winner. We were big time before. Not so much anymore.

As many have stated before the Athletic department is not great at marketing the games to students.

As many have stated before the Athletic department is not great at marketing the games to students. I assume students weren't marketed for football games. Yet the students filled their sections well before kickoff. Winning matters.

As many have stated before the Athletic department is not great at marketing the games to students. I assume students weren't marketed for football games. Yet the students filled their sections well before kickoff. Winning matters. When my kids were here 25 years ago, OSU had the student section at football games on the lower level between the goal lines - great seats. I believe they still do; I think they did throughout the 3 decades of losing seasons. So the kids have always gone to the games. My daughter's sorority had 'their spot', as I'm sure the other Greek houses did. One class graduates; the incoming freshmen take their places in the 'spot.' Win or lose, it's a continuum. No fraternities or sororities have 'spots' at women's basketball games. The only kids the program markets to are the middle school kids who come once a year. I'm sure more OSU students want to go to football games when the team's winning; that's only natural. But, because of setting up a very desirable student section many, many years ago - win or lose, there is a continuum.

I remain skeptical of what that coach says.

Leger-Walker went off for Wazzu (40 points), but she got almost no help. Washington won 82-66 in Seattle. Cougs had won 7 of 8 in this series, after UW won 38 in a row or something like that.

Kansas absolutely clubbed Arizona at Arizona, and they are 9-0. Arizona is 7-1 against overall soft competition, but they ranked 20th and Kansas is 22nd. I'm a Pac12 fan, but Kansas should be well ahead of Arizona in this poll.
