The religious and other exemption applications go before a review board for a final decision. I haven’t heard of any mainstream religion that is anti-vax. . Anyone think he might get a pass being a high profile employee and now winning three straight games?

Hmmmm, thought I'd read that had already been denied at the State level?? I think that would be unconstitutional. Thought that was just a piece of paper some old guys with nice penmanship dreamt up.

So, no, unless they’re not following their own policy.

I hope he gets canned. As a leader he sets an extremely poor example for his team and staff. But that's WSU's problem, thankfully, not mine.

The Christian Scientists and Dutch Reformed Church are about it in the US for churches that have established doctrine discouraging vaccination, and they're still pretty small.

Someone told me that I trust, the Christian Science ok’d the COVID vax. I haven’t verified it. For more than a century, our denomination has counseled respect for public health authorities and conscientious obedience to the laws of the land, including those requiring vaccination. Christian Scientists report suspected communicable disease, obey quarantines, and strive to cooperate with measures considered necessary by public health officials. We see this as a matter of basic Golden Rule ethics and New Testament love. www.christianscience.com/press-room/a-christian-science-perspective-on-vaccination-and-public-health

It’s a deeply considered spiritual practice and way of life that has meant a lot to us over the years." By "most," they mean all. The Christian Scientists that I knew aren't vaccinated for anything. They don't treat for cancer. They watch family members die from infected leg wounds. They aren't getting vaccinated for COVID-19. It isn't dogmatic, but it is as close to dogmatic with them as it gets. I would worry about catching at least 4-5 diseases from them before COVID-19.

The religious and other exemption applications go before a review board for a final decision. I haven’t heard of any mainstream religion that is anti-vax. Religious exemptions are individual to the person. Even if someone is an adherent of a denomination that does not ban vaccinations, an individual can have a constitutional religious belief, barring him or her from receiving a COVID-19 vaccination. And intentional violations of individuals' constitutional rights is a crime and also can result in huge civil suits.

Actually Mississippi, New York, California, West Virginia, and Maine do not allow religious exemptions for vaccine requirements for children. So religious exemption is not a sure thing. It’s unfortunate that the 45 other states haven’t joined with the other 5, but we allow a person’s belief in the unknowable and untestable jeopardize the safety of the community. Ridiculous.
