Now that Chance Gray has verballed to Oregon, that makes 6 of the top 11 prospects in the country who have signed on with one of the Pac-12 schools - according to Hoop Gurlz 2022....
Of these premiere players, only one is from the West Coast - London Jones, who signed with UCLA. This is a totally impressive statement about the national recruiting power of the PAC-12....And it pretty much assures elite rosters for several years to come....
I'm not sure the Pac has ever recruited this well, and even though I'm not on top of past recruiting, it's pretty darn impressive... It's not done either....Two more top 13 players are likely to sign with one of the Pac-12 schools (Grace VanSlooten # 13, and Aaliyah Gayles # 8)....
At any rate, the Beavs are more than holding their own in the recruiting wars, but going forward Rueck is going to find himself competing against far more talent than he has had to deal with in the past..... GO BEAVS!!

I don't know how far to go back, but the Pac 12 has been the best overall conference for 5 years or so. Finally got that "yeah but they never win a Championship" caveat taken care of. With the recent recruiting it looks like it's only going to get tougher going forward.
I think some programs are going to fall desperately far behind in short order. Not convinced the coaches at Utah and Colorado are up to the task. ASU may be headed toward permanently middle of the Pac rather than upper third. New coaches at USC and UW better hit the ground running. WSU made big strides last year, but they still need to prove they can recruit better than they did w/ Daugherty. Unless there are a bunch more Leger-Walkers heading their way, they need more than they got to stay competitive. Cal has recruited well and showed some improvement down the stretch last season, but still their coach has a horrible record during her 2 years there. I'll believe she can turn the program around when I see it.

I think that coaches are going to be more and more important as the top teams land elite players. Rueck has made some decisions that ended up in a loss but he had made significantly more that got us a win.

I don't see WSU staying in the upper half either; until they prove me wrong, I'll look at last year as an anomaly for them.

Oregon just added Kennedy Basham to their '22 class, I believe she was on OSU's radar for a while. 6-7 post out of Arizona.

Maybe turning over 50% of their roster every year is their new grand plan.

OSU never offered her, but she moves really well for 6-7. She has to get stronger and diversify her offensive game, but there's a lot to work with there. Oregon currently has 13 on their 21-22 roster, three of which are listed as seniors, two of which could still potentially use their fifth year. Prince and Sabally will also both be draft eligible.

All three of Oregon’s current pledges which include Basham project to be five-star prospects on ESPN by Signing Day, as the site drops its five-star cut list to 52 on the final version of its rankings. Chance Gray and Jennah Isai are the other two, fwiw. UCLA, Louisville and the Zona schools were Basham's other finalists.

Since ESPN switched from Collegiate Girls’ Basketball Report to Premier Basketball, the number of five-stars dropped massively. In 2021, there was only 15. The class of 2022 already has 20 five-stars. Oregon’s current lone projected five-star recruit is Chance Gray, who is already one. Vanslooten would make a second.

beaverwbb fan: Thanks for providing the info on Kennedy Basham... I just assumed that the Beavs had offered her. She has been a looming presence for a while now, and I kinda figured she fit the profile of the kind of athlete the Beavs like to land then develop....Maybe she just had no interest in coming to Corvallis, or maybe it speaks to the confidence Coach Rueck has in his Bigs for the coming years....
Adia Barnes has as much as said "We really, really want her" but she heads north to Oregon, probably knowing Prince will be gone when she arrives. GO BEAVS!!

Didn’t one of Barnes assistants went to whoregon? She has been effective pulling recruits away from Barnes for 2022 prospects. Maybe it just appears that way. Vanslooten is an interesting one to watch where she goes

Add Samantha Wagner (wing, ESPN #17 overall for 2023) to the list of potential gals for Pac-12 Arizona, Oregon, and Stanford (plus 5 more schools).
