Not only independent acting , but contributing to the best things in an orderly society - as opposed to generating fear and chaos that appeals to those lacking an education and critical thinking skills ! Take a hike Shelby....same can be said both sides to the equation any day every day ....take a look at the garbage each side puts out there...no high roads either side. I recall the big push by the Dems on defunding the police and where did that get us....the same crap in downtown Portland that was so big on defunding the police and now they’re asking the FBI to help quell the downtown crap.... According to Jdogstyler there were no riots. And speaking of lack of education, I wouldn’t take advice from a poster that can’t type one correct sentence in their history of posting. They must like the Dixie Chicks. Wide Open Spaces!

Democrats did not support "defunding" thepolice: left-wingnut, economically-illiterate, children did. The whole "defund the police" was poorly conceived because it allowed for multiple interpretations of what "defund" actually meant, so it made easy pickings for the right. And worse, those on the left couldn't fully back it because it was unclear. That said, some of the ideas that came out of that conversation were worthy of further investigation. For example, sending out mental health/social workers for certain types of police calls. I recently read that Minneapolis is actually implementing this idea.

I actually haven't seen downtown PDX but I've got a couple friends left of center, one lives downtown part time, that say it was trashed and looked like another country earlier this year.

Democrats did not support "defunding" thepolice: left-wingnut, economically-illiterate, children did. So why was it Mayor Wheeler denied assistance from the FBI last year with all the protests and destruction of downtown businesses.....I guess he fits the description in your last sentence though Probably because Wheeler knew that the reaction of the protesters would be stronger and larger if former President Trump was seen to have a hand in attempting to quell it. And that's exactly what happened. Portlanders were proud to show that Trump couldn't shut down the protests like he thought he could.

Because half of those who die at the hands of police are crips.

Lose their roots? You mean grow up and become independent thinking adults? I feel like you're insinuating that only left leaning folks are capable of independent thinking.....all ends of the political spectrum are susceptible to group think, and peer pressure....Some think liberal college campuses are the real world. They aren't. I appreciate my OSU education, and I appreciate living in a few different places with very different politics. It helped me to sift through things and get to what is important. I'm insinuating I know literally thousands of college graduates, not a single one whose politics were shaped by their college experience. They were who they were from their first day freshman year. So in a way, you sorta proved my point. Another bulls%#t talking point. I'll add I know at least a dozen Cal graduates, almost all of which are what we used to call conservatives.

You sound like a guy that no one wants to hang around with ! Your views are as twisted as the orange idiot ! Adios ! Believe it or not, I do have friends who seem to want to hang out with me....don't have to pay em or nothin. Thanks for helping to make my point though. You are a part of the "tolerant left"......let me be perfectly clear on this......I have friends and family who are on both ends of the political spectrum, some of them actually tolerate people with different political views.....I also know folks on both ends who are essentially intolerant of others views......that's how you come across to me.....so you can pound sand

Wow you know thousands of college grads who didn't change any of their political views while at college? I call bulls%#t. Hell, I became a little bit more centrist by being exposed to some different concepts while at OSU. Apparently you know thousands of people who are either unwilling to change, or are already so confident in themselves and their beliefs, they are unaffected by anything around them.....GTFOH with that s%#t!

So , If you have people that actually want to hang out with you is pretty amazing ! Pounding sand and other outbursts are emblematic of your dinosaur brain !
The WSU COACH needs to be fired - He is committing personal suicide and creating collateral damage with his BS ... I continue to be amazed at people that hitch their wagons to the absolute ( and provable ) worst human in the history of the world is very disturbing !

Wait, wait, wait, who’s this absolute (and provable) worst human in the history of the world? If you’re talking about Trump I’m going to need some sources that prove this. I’m not a Trump fan but even a little study of history leaves me thinking there’s been worse. But maybe I just have a dinosaur brain too.
