Tell that to glove and irimi.....or does it not apply to them? They were responding to scythe's initial attack and your support of it...scythe initiated the political discussion and you second him. I'm not a ref or a teacher who penalizes the reaction when it's the initial foul that should've been called. LOL  . “initial attack”? “political discussion”? That’s some seriously tortured logic. The idea of using technology to call balls and strikes was brought up. I believe that’s a bad idea and cited examples of systems where outputs can be manipulated. Yes, these things can be manipulated IF MLB fails to invest in an adequate level of computer security. It's likely that adopting air-gapped systems can provide that. |

I work with a couple folks like this and I feel sorry for them. I refuse to get drawn into their discussions about politics. We have different views. They cannot change mine and I’m not even going to try to change theirs. That’s not to say I won’t discuss politics or any other subject. I only choose to do so with rational people. This board is about baseball and especially Beaver Baseball. I enjoy reading some of the thoughts here and I’ve learned a lot. I am looking forward to next season. |

My reply to your post was also not political. You claimed that calling balls and strikes electronically could open the way for hacking like electronic voting. In my reply, I simply tried to show you that any method selected will be scrutinized and attacked when there is a loser, just as the mail in voting system is currently. You brought up voting, and I stayed with the analogy. You probably should’ve used other examples of hacking, but The voting model, with it’s winners and losers, probably best fit what you wanted to say. |

Careful...you suggest that voting machines were manipulated and sensible people may call you out for bringing up politics on a baseball message board when the administrators of said board have many times over admonished people not to do so. Then those sensible people might wonder why you have to get your little digs in everywhere you go when there are so many media platforms to indulge in political discussions to your hearts desire. It is not politics; just an asinine rumor on the internet that only fools believe. Everybody who went through 8th grade civics class knows that. |

The losers of an election never trust the voting machines. Those same people think that voting machines are the greatest thing since sliced bread, when they win. The sentiment about voting machines is not inherently political. |

Is there any credible evidence of this happening? No.
I’d like to see a Venn diagram of the “stop the steal” folks and “vaccines make you magnetic” folks. A perfect circle I bet.
I wish we could keep politics off of this forum. But I can’t. People who know better, can’t control themselves.
Am I biased? Yes.
Will I side with someone who’s opinion is more closely aligned with mine? Yes.
