Tough to figure out because it was our best 8 on that day only. On other days this season, Casey, Dukart and Ober certainly were in our best 8 and Fuchs, Gretler, Boyd and Dernedde were not. We didn't have much separation this year. Other than Melton, guys didn't come in, take a job, and refuse to give it up, especially in the outfield, where we only developed one guy (Meckler) who HAD to play every day. No one hit consistently from start to finish. I would say Forrester came in and took a job. Nobody expected him to even play. Yes, forgot about him, although he hasn't done much in the last month or so.

Boyd has impressed me more and more lately. It has to be so hard for the coaching staff to manage an expanded covid roster. I know guys at all schools have quit and transferred for lack of playing time. A reduced roster with more defined roles has to be something our coaching staff will be much more happy with. Hope all of these kids who return get some great experience and come back more seasoned and ready for a big 2022.

This discussion assumes that RPI is a valid comparative tool. Stop reading if you hate/distrust RPI.
Some interesting comparisons when looking through all 16 Regionals, from a perspective that the top 16 seeds are assumed to be at an advantage in their first game. They all get matched up against the #4 seed within their Region (RPI of #4 seeds by the way ranges from #27 to #265).
If a host team wins Game #1, then which Region appears to present the toughest Game #2 challenge for the host team? Which regional has the highest quality #2 vs. #3 opening matchup? To answer this question, I first 'threw out' the TEXAS Regional (Austin) - because as a #3 seed in Austin, Fairfield with an overall #3 RPI is just too weird to digest.
Of the remaining 15 Regionals, adding the RPI for #2 and #3 seed, the toughest Regional for a host is: the one roughly 40 miles south of Corvallis! LSU & Gonzaga combine for an RPI of 54. FTD!
With this same methodology, the Fort Worth Regional ranks (for TCU, the host school) as the 4th toughest Regional, as OSU and DBU's additive RPI is 64. Go Beavs!

It’s playoff baseball. There are no gimmes. Beavs CAN win.... but they will have to be better than they have been. They will have to actually plate runs .... lol Hopefully didn’t use them all up at Stanford gm 3.....especially since they did squadouche before that....

Dallas B will likely be throwing their ace pitcher (Hamel) at us....but I like our chances with the Abel we saw last game. Claunch is the batter I expected at the end of the season so he’s a big plus....win the first game..... I wonder if TCU will save ace for game 2.....have no idea who that is

This is false. "ANYONE" can't carry a handgun in Texas. Just like every state that allows them you must hold a valid government issued concealed carry permit. not every state, government of Wyoming has ruled that your “permit “ or permission to carry is in the constitution. Freedom, it will never catch on. Wyoming is pretty sweet......but the dam winters!

I know the Dallas B pitcher was pretty clear front runner but he has so-so ERA so hopefully we can raise his ERA up

I wonder if TCU will save ace for game 2.....have no idea who that is I just listened to the D1 Baseball bracket discussion, and it was mentioned that McNeese state has an interesting ace that could give TCU trouble. Will Dion is McNeese State's ace. He was on Baseball America's and NCBWA Freshman All-American team in 2019 as a reliever. He was converted to a starter in 2020. He has looked a lot more like his 2019 self this year than in 2020. McNeese State's problem is that Dion started three times in the last 10 days and may not be ready for the Friday start. Jonathan Ellison would get the start, if Dion can't go.
