Just a quick scan of the stats it kind of looks like Dallas B might be the toughest in the Regional. 90 HR with one kid hitting 19 HR Hamel their #1 has 123 SO Jackson Glenn, the second baseman, has 19 home runs and was the Missouri Valley Player of the Year. Glenn has 19 home runs, but 15 came at Dallas. The other four were hit in Carbondale: one in the series against Southern Illinois and three in the Missouri Valley Tournament in Carbondale. Dominic Hamel has been their ace. Hamel has allowed 12 home runs on the year. It is tough to figure out Dallas Baptist's stats, because of their stadium. Plus, Hamel has pitched in three games in the past 11 days (including part of the 10th yesterday), though. Rhett Kouba earned Missouri Valley first team honors over Hamel (second team) and has not pitched since Thursday. He may get the start against Oregon State to give Hamel some time to rest up. Luke Eldred is the Sunday starter. All three are right-handed. TCU is better than Dallas Baptist. Problem w Righties v. Beavs is that it increases possibility that the 'Windmill' might see the batters box. I really loved the Fuchs - Boyd - Meckler OF start in the final Stanford game. It put the more deserving players on the field.

Lived there for long time ! Stadium is great. Be ready for the pounding heat Hats/ lotion, etc .Also to protect yourself, you may want to invest in a bulletproof outfit - since ANYONE in Texas can carry a loaded handgun without a license ... so, if you are into arguing balls and strikes, you may want to so only after you are well away from anyone wearing a 10 gallon hat,, Lizard Boots, and showing a noticeable pocket Bulge !

This is false. "ANYONE" can't carry a handgun in Texas. Just like every state that allows them you must hold a valid government issued concealed carry permit.

We can hit our way out of a paper bag now. I think our starting 8 are the guys that finished the season at Furd, and that eliminated a ton of strike outs and 5 for 75 hitters. Maybe in the hot air we can generate a few home runs, but our defense is going to have to play the way they finished the season too. I like how our starters are throwing, but the bullpen will be the tale of the tape for us in the distance we travel into the playoffs. I'd love to come out of the regional and have the lesser seeded #2 or the #3 win out so we find ourselves hosting a super. They ought to be able to go 50% at Goss by then. It’s a “wet” paper bag. Bring your A game. By the way, I hope you’re right, but hanging your hat on one good performance in forever doesn’t really warrant any trash talking IMO.

Trash talking - saying that I think we've got our best 8 picked out, that we need to play great defense and that our pitching is improving is trash talking? That I'd like us to get real lucky and find our way into hosting a super? Odd trash talk.

Actually I thought we played well against Zona in the third game....one we should have won. We can play with anyone but our consistency is what’s lacking. I think we will be a hard out for anyone that plays us

But your point now makes me wonder, if this is our best 8, what took so long to figure it out? Only 55 games?

Tough to figure out because it was our best 8 on that day only. On other days this season, Casey, Dukart and Ober certainly were in our best 8 and Fuchs, Gretler, Boyd and Dernedde were not.
We didn't have much separation this year. Other than Melton, guys didn't come in, take a job, and refuse to give it up, especially in the outfield, where we only developed one guy (Meckler) who HAD to play every day. No one hit consistently from start to finish.

I really think that the coaches were giving the vets every chance they could to break out. I mean when we talk the speed and defense Casey and McMahan and Ober bring, as well as how they can hit when they are putting quality at bats together, it's hard not to try.

Freedom, it will never catch on.

Freedom, it will never catch on. I haven’t looked into it recently, but I believe Oregon is also an open carry state. No permit needed as long as it isn’t concealed. That may be limited in some cities though if they have their own laws.
