So Hansford is going to begin her senior year of h.s. this September, and arrive in Corvallis in summer of 2022? Don't know why I'm so confused about her dates, but I am..... Switching gears: sometimes in recruiting a coach will say, in effect, I think this kid is going to make a big leap forward when she gains 15 pounds.... Lily looks thin as a rail to me. Whether that's a forever thing is hard to say....But I'd like to see her with more volume...My guess is the coaching staff is thinking along similar lines.... GO BEAVS!! If all goes according to plan, Lily should be arriving the summer of 2022 and playing in her first collegiate game at the end of the year. I imagine the coaching staff’s main priority with Lily is building her overall strength and agility so that she can hold her own in the Pac-12.

Our WBB Recruiting has become impressive. On the UCONN Board, they refer to her as a 3-star. Watching her film, she is certainly better than 3-star. 6'2", and agile. Can't wait for her to make it to Corvallis. What do UCONN posters know ?

I'm sure a lot of 6'-2" 17 year old girls take a few years to grow into their height. I'm impressed by her agility.

Lily can drive to the hoop using either hand and shoot lights out from 3. What more could you want? Perhaps a bit more muscle and weight.

We are loading up on some pure shooters. We've had some great deep threats at OSU, but I don't recall any of them having the effortless, smooth and fundamentally sound high releases that Hansford or Blacklock have.

Thanks rmancarl, can't get enough about this kid. Watching her highlights I thought, wonder if the stats are that great, highlights can be deceiving, but this little piece helps:

I can see why several on this board have commented that Lily brings back memories of Sydney.
Lily has the same shooting habit of leaning forward with the left shoulder of her shooting arm. She doesn't square-up in the same way that most good shooters do (or try to do)....This puts her at a disadvantage in that it is easier to defend, but it looks to me like she manages it very well.
Sydney shot that way for 4 years and no one really figured out how to stop it...... At any rate, this is an observation of her style, not a criticism.....
Bottom line the kid is a shooter, she unloads in a hurry, she can pull up off the forward dribble and release without drifting, and that is something most girls have a LOT of trouble with....She has the markings of a good one.
Now look around and see if you find those missing 15 pounds.!!😎 GO BEAVS!!

Lily is a long wing that shoots it efficiently from deep. As she gets older and stronger, she should be able to add a bit of quickness. Unlike Greta or Talia, she's not someone I see making an impact as a freshman, but a couple of years in the system, she will be a very, very valuable player. Great cherry on top of the 2022 class, probably our best and most well-rounded of the Rueck era.

Our big limiter in the playoffs has been those teams (typically top-5) with the very athletic, quick guards who can cover the perimeter. If we don’t match their quickness, we’ve got to have some weapon(s) that compensate for that issue... either accurate shooters with a quick release (like Lily) or a dominant inside presence and an ability to get her the ball. If she can play the “D” well enough, I can see her playing as a Freshman as a shooting specialist.

I don't think she missed a shot, lol
Yes, because of the shot, there is that 'Syd' look, but I wonder if she will be used in more of the 'Kat" mode.
I'm sure it has been mentioned earlier in this thread, but the last size I saw on her was 6'2" 140lbs. She has time to gain the muscle. Let's hope she has the body frame to help her get there.

Already the second ranked class in the nation, now 4 players deep.If the ranking services ever decide to go back to work, it will be interesting to see where Lily and Adlee are ranked.
