We only dropped to #23 in RPI. One win and we’re easily in and we could sneak in even if we’re swept. We’d still be .500 in conference.

I dunno.....I think we are in even if we are swept but I would feel a lot better with at least one more win......but with that being said we can’t keep replicating our play or else it’s a short postseason

So...here is where Beavs are right now

Oregon State - 33-20, 23 RPI, 7-14 vs top 50

Here were the LAST FIVE in per d1 baseball this week....(might change based on what happened this weekend, but you get it)

Indiana State - 27-17, 37 RPI, 3-4 vs top 50
Tulane 28-22, 77 RPI, 2-8 vs top 50,
Clemson 24-26, 62 RPI, 7-24 vs top 50
LSU 34-21, 21 RPI, 10-15 vs top 50 (getting the SEC penalty for being 13-17 in conference and tied for 8th)
Georgia 30-23, 41 RPI, 7-13 vs top 50 (same as LSU 13-17 and tied for 8th)

Here were the FIRST FIVE OUT:

Alabama - 29-22, 36 RPI, 6-15 vs top 50 (12-17 in conference)
Virginia Tech 27-23, 57 RPI, 11-19 vs top 50
Air Force 24-21, 50 RPI, 5-6 vs top 50
Iowa 23-18, 86 RPI, 2-3 vs top 50 (Iowa is tough because 100% Big10 games so throws off RPI and top 50 some...)
UC Santa Barbara 35-18, 56 RPI, 2-9 vs top 50

I guess I don't get too worried.....0-3 might put some pressure but I still think we get in. As not great as the Pac-12 feels this season, top college baseball guys on D1 are very impressed with the pac12 and frankly very likely getting 3 hosts helps pull in the next 3 too. Also, UCLA is below us in RPI, tied in conference, below in record but higher in top 50 but guessing everyone confident there.

I'm super pumped honestly that we are so hard on ourselves but we aren't on the bubble at all right now in my opinion.

Instead, the 2 questions for me are:

1. Does Gonzaga host? Todays lose hurt that but they won the series
2. Do we get a "high enough 2" to allow us to stay in the PNW and go to Gonzaga....

1 or 2 wins vs Stanford would help #2 above and give us some momentum! Go Beavs!

They said that at times...but 19 of the 20 locations selected for potential regionals were basically the top 19 RPIs (other than Fairfield and Old Dominion) and other one was just outside at the time, so that suggests a high weight to RPI

If Oregon State sweeps Stanford, the Beavers have a good argument to be a one-seed. Although Oregon State cannot host, it might push the committee to put the Beavers in Spokane as a one-seed. But other things would have to break for Oregon State, as well. You probably need UCLA to go 2-1 against Arizona State, for example. That would be a third-place finish in the Pac-12.

If Oregon State goes 2-1, the Beavers should be in. Easy. Under no circumstances should Oregon State be out.

If Oregon State goes 1-2, the Beavers should still be in. But then you have to start worrying about how the opponents are doing. And how the conference tournaments are going for teams that are currently behind Oregon State.

If Oregon State goes 0-3, it gets even murkier. You probably have to really worry about how all of the other games are shaking out. A 2-9 finish very well might be a death knell, though.

That's ridiculous. Clemson cannot play in the NCAA tournament with a losing record, unless it wins the ACC tournament. HTF they can be on anybody's list is incredible.

Clemson was over .500 when they published it last Tuesday and then went under .500....still agree with you with them barely over .500 being considered anyway. My records were up to date.

Aaron Fitt Oh they're absolutely still right in the thick of that hosting race. There are only 20 teams in the hunt, and several of them did not help their cause this weekend (Pitt is out of it now as far as I'm concerned, while South Carolina and La Tech had losing weekends, and Southern Miss was idle). I still think Gonzaga hosts if it wins this San Diego series.
