Disappointing that they would do that. NCAA keeps digging their hole a little deeper.

Was just reading about this.. So the NCAA "manual" says the regional needs to be completed by 5/12 even though national tourney doesn't start until May 21? Makes perfect sense.

Makes perfect sense. the NCAA can pound that manual up their ass. in these covid times; games have been moved , games and been rescheduled , games played with two days notice. but not this, this is the one event without any flexibility ! do you know why everyone thinks the NCAA are a bunch of out of touch, weak minded, arrogant ,self serving blow holes ? because they are !

End of conspiracy theory. .....and yes, the SEC is very good at golf. SEC teams have won a grand total of TWO women's titles since 1986. Pac--10/12 teams have won 19. Duke itself has won seven. The SEC isn't all that and a slice of bread in women's golf. Far, far from it. This decision stinks to high heaven.

I'll let my wife know Still, it would have been appropriate to actually play those other teams rather than relying on the NCAA's judgement call.

The SEC has 8 teams in the Top 25....I think they are pretty good. I'm just not buying that there's any sort of conspiracy theory here. If this was an SEC conspiracy, they would have wanted to play to give Miss St. a shot to get in.

I don't think there was a conspiracy, just piss-poor management on the part of LSU, the host school, and the NCAA. There is absolutely no reason a regional has to be completed nine full days before the national tournament begins.
Those rankings are meaningless until you play against teams from outside your region. The national tournaments over the past 30-plus years, where the SEC has been pretty much a non-factor, prove that they are routinely over-rated. Just like the ACC always has lots of ranked teams in college baseball but has only one NCAA championship to show for it in the last 60-plus years.
The Pac-12 was laughed at in men's basketball this year, hardly made a dent in the rankings. Then the NCAA tournament games started. Turns out the Pac-12 was pretty strong, right?

I agree it is a crock that they couldn't even get two rounds in. The whole Joe Beaver show today was Sean Arey talking to Mike about how bad it was that they couldn't get the tourney in. If they are going to hold the tournaments in areas with inclement weather, you would think they could incorporate a 2 or 3 day window of extra days to make sure they could get some or all rounds in.
