Whoops! I think I can come up with a more lucid statement than "my." Picture the Summer Olympics. It's the day that the quarterfinal heats of the 100 meter dash are to be run. Men have trained their entire lives, built themselves into world class athletes, just for these 10 seconds, which may or may not lead to another such 10 seconds. Even if there is no further 10 seconds, those 10 that have been allotted to them make it all worthwhile - a memory, a sense of accomplishment, to be shared with children and grandchildren for 60 years. But then it rains. The Olympic Committee issues the following statement: "The schedule must be maintained as originally put forth. The top 4 seeds in each heat will advance to the semifinal heats without the races being run. To the rest of you, the Olympic Games thanks you for coming. Do try again in 4 years, Ta ta for now." Absolutely unthinkable for the governing body of such an important event, right? But that's exactly what the NCAA did today. They have done a tremendous disservice to every athlete in the field, including those from the teams they arbitrarily advanced, and they have disgraced themselves and shamed college sports.

This might be your best post yet. 😉 It only took me 1,087 tries to nail it!
