Good interview and clearly points out that we were given the shaft by Megs at UW, whom I would never trust anyway. Payback is going to be a bitch scum bag, the only remaining question is who on the panel/committee was in his pocket. Egregious move by all involved, especially the bogus info they passed out about playing the teams in front of us, someone had the fix in?? WHO??

Actually... I like PC alot... but this is out of character. He would typically keep this in house. It might leak he was unhappy, but this is not what I like to hear from classy coaches. Screwed or not, every coach, if you are in it long enough, gets hosed by a call or ranking or selection processes.
It simply sounds like sour grapes now.
Your team could have taken it out of a selection committees hands, they did not. If you leave it up to a bunch of morons you really have no complaints, especially if in the years you're in the tourney you did not voice concern/fight/complain for Teams that were left out in a similar fashion. All sudden it's your team and it's wrong!?
Simply put... if another team's coach we were closely familiar with was re-actively posturing over a non-selection we'd be making fun (and have) of them for the sour grapes. It is one thing to stand up for your players during a game when it can help influence future calls, but there is no positive outcome here. Go through the proper channels to get things changed.
This is beneath PC... especially to give the smooth "pated" idiot any connection to the situation.

So quietly voice your objections? Yeah, that will certainly really accomplish a lot. Maybe you missed the part yesterday about how this committee factored "how you performed against the conference teams ahead of you" as a negative against OSU (misstating how they did), when it was actually a positive (in OSU's favor). And being on Can crappo's show will accomplish.... what? If you are using that clown for any semblance of a forum or platform it's a misstep. |

When someone who is well respected and does not speak very often, decides to voice an opinion...most people listen. When someone posts 400-600+more posts than everyone else...welll...

I agree, this is a out of character for PC. But Pat Casey has the highest character of anyone you will find in sports at any level, so the fact he is speaking out on this indicates to me how terribly egregious it is and what an incredibly flawed system it is.
Really, just give it up.

Who in the Pac-12 has gotten "left out" recently that shouldn't have? Megs kid was a classless act when he came to Goss this year, no big surprise seeing who his Dad is. Thanks for lobbying for O State, jerk weed! Who picks the people for the Selection Committee? And what the H do most AD's know about baseball, other than the fact that they had better get their school in the field of 64?
We get B2B Pac-12 Pitcher of the Week, and no dance card. Yeah, that's fair all right. Any way you slice it, we got screwed. It was a bitter pill to swallow yesterday, and it ain't tasting any better today.

Pat Casey nailed it....we were a lock if you look at our record. Of the 4 teams ahead of us that got in....we had an 8-2 win/loss against them. We swept ASU.....had same conference record as them.....same RPI and then ASU gets put in as a #2 seed in their bracket......this one smells so rotten.....there were teams that got in only because of politics to the chagrin of OSU. Easy one to point out is South Alabama......and the list goes on. To take 10 teams out of the ACC is B*llsh*t.....

LMAO... First, I don't "pick battles". If you disagree with a post great. In having people disagree with you doesn't mean you picked to battle... quite the contrary, those who belittle the poster chose to do so. Argue the merits, but the rest is "garbage" that bears the mark of ignorance. Second, I believe zero was ever mentioned about PC'S character, or lack thereof. In fact I believe his continuing his complaining after the print article was my point... it was out of character. And, then it seems you agree with the premise of my post... -it's out of character -it changes nothing -those who make such decisions don't listen -hence by many it's just another coach's sour grapes All this crap about Meggs and how he screwed us is baloney. You might as well say he threw the Pac 12 title as Utah winning it had as much to do with us getting left out as anything. No one, not PC, no one on this board, knows what goes down in those meetings. Teams get "screwed" every year in every sport. Because it happens to an erratic team of ours who puts on a late surge it's not sour grapes!? You can argue all you want with my post. Bottom line we're not in and we really have zero to complain about, and doing so changes nothing about the field or the selection process. |
