I think that McDowell will keep improving and be a regular, but maybe not this year. I would like to see McMahan be the Guy", but he constantly puts his back foot in the bucket when he swings and that will pull his bat head away from the ball resulting in missing the pitch or hitting a harmless grounder to the right side of the infield. This is easy to correct and even easier to see. Why it hasn't been corrected is a mystery.

Just an FYI, Joe Casey is hitting .357 (5-14) during the five-game winning streak with five RBIs.

The camera crew seemed to have lost the ball, on that particular play. So I doubt a highlight will be available. What I really liked after that play, was the energy and enthusiasm from the Beaver dugout. I like it when we're kind of "edgy." or have "chip on our shoulder." I expect a motivated team to hit the field today. Hjerpe will be dealing. We're in good shape. I had the game on but the volume was down and with the bad camera angles, couldn't tell what had happened. All I know was that my first thought was that the game was over. Army defense! Army strong! Wade Meckler just said, on pre-game, that everyone on the team (talking about it last night) thought that it was the BEST play they had EVER seen (including on TV). Whoa ! |
