I'm wondering about girls names circa 2001 and look forward to the first time Ron Callan calls a game with Taya, Taylor, Talia, and Tea on the court together.
Practice will be interesting: Someone yells "Tay" and four heads swivel.

Jelena is a freshman, and South Carolina was really good. But, that's where the bar is set, if you want to be playing in late March/early April.

Tea will, I believe, have 2 years of eligibility, after having played 3 at SDSU, so she provides some senior leadership and experience, which would otherwise be lacking in our backcourt. AJ is an incoming freshman, giving us 3 in that class (two 5 stars and one 4 star), and I like to see 3 or 4 players per class. In 2022, after all the final ranking is done, we'll probably again have two 5 stars and a 4 star. We're well on track to getting back in balance for the future. We'll have 3 'sophomores' this coming year in Brown, Jones, and Mitrovic (one 5 star, one 4 star, and an international). I'd like to see us add one more for 2022 - preferably another 5 star, not fussy who. But, recruiting numbers wise, I think we're in a good position for the future.

Correction: Adams will be a grad transfer, with 1 year of eligibility. That's better yet in my mind.

We still need one more guard so we can have two squads play against each other.

Tea has 81 starts. You can't downplay how important that is for this team with talented freshman guards.

Is it a nickname for Timea (Timea Gardiner)?

Some videos of Marotte: www.maxpreps.com/athlete/aj-marotte/6jh6VLsOEeeT-Oz0u-e-FA/videos.htm?videoid=520ce4c5-d1cd-47ae-9307-25ca5efc1803Looks like she has a good wingspan, and may be able to play above her hight number like Jones does. Looks like a pure shooter that has good footwork, including on step-back shots. Does not look particularly quick, so I suspect she won't be able to create her own shots in the Pac-12 outside of step-backs, but looks to be a very good fit for Rueck's offense. Looks to be a plus rebounder as well, particularly from the guard position. Edit:---- Here's some video from her sophomore season - shows more continuous gameplay vs. the MaxPreps, and demonstrates more athleticism and aggressiveness than it looked like to me in the MaxPreps highlights. Definitely looks like a player that looks to score and does it well.

Some nice passes too. Nothing flashy but looks solid.

I noticed that too. She could use some work in the weight room but I like the way she carries herself in the game videos.
