The only alternative was getting no outs. I’m sure you would’ve thought that was poor defense too. It was really well played by the Ducks Irvine did the same thing to us in the 2013 regional. It's not as uncommon as you think. It was the 2014 regional, but yeah Irvine had a huge inning. |

This reminds me of A LOT of years after ‘06 and ‘07. We didn’t play good ball. Had lousy approaches at the plate. We were just a better than mediocre for many of those years. I was think about this on and off this season. Didn't those years almost drive Coach Casey into retirement? Those were hard teams to watch, and it seemed like many of the players were wanting to ride the coattails of the program instead of leading the program. |
